Was anyone else surprised about the way the Celtics just flat-out collapsed after having a lead at the beginning of the 4th quarter last night? I enjoyed seeing it but didn't expect them to look so helpless. Honestly that was a stretch where they missed Kyrie -- say what you want about the dude but he would have SCORED in a situation like that.

Also, after spending more time watching the Heat not thinking of Jimmy Butler as a top five guy in the league any more. He is a gritty 20-5-5 player who is a legit all-star but I'm not sure he looked like the best player on his own team at any point in that Celtics series.

No way Jimmy Butler is a top 5 talent in the NBA. So many ahead of him. And if not for his unusual FTr he wouldn't even score nearly as well.
He is a legit winner and his impact on the team he has been on should not be understated, but talent wise and production wise he is not even top 10, let alone 5.

This Heat team is talented and has the best coaching staff in the NBA imho.

Yeah, never thought talent wise he was top 5 but just as a player you want on your side when the chips are down. But you are completely right about the free throws too, his jump shot is not great and athletically he doesn't have the ability to get to the hoop at will, so he relies a lot on getting calls.

The Heat organization is amazing the way they develop young players and put them in a position to succeed, along with getting the absolute best out of guys like Dragic.

All I could think watching BOS fall apart was people saying how much of an upgrade Kemba was for BOS over Kyrie. A healthy Kyrie and BOS wins that series IMO. Kemba just could not get off in that series.

Kyrie vs Kemba is a good example of why even tempermental superstars are a bigger deal than very good players who are great locker room guys. There is no substitute for someone with massive individual skills who can just take apart a defense single-handedly when the defense and pressure is most intense.

Bam actually led Jimmy in all of points/rebounds/assists/steals/blocks that series. If anyone on that team is in the conversation for top-10 player in the NBA, it's him.

Yeah may not be there yet, but we will likely be having the the Anthony Davis/Bam debate and it might be during this series. Very interested if the numbers you posted in their matchups are predictive or not.

Bam did everything and his ability as an isolation scorer is much better than I thought. His passing is almost unique if it weren't for the fact there are some really good passing big men in the game right now.

Bam looks like a midget version of AD before he developed his three pointer LOL

This is especially true in the playoffs.

The issue with KEmba funnily enough was his defense. He was a huge negative. Offensively, the defense zerod in on him, so that opened up the game for everybody else. But defensively he really hurt them.

I think on offense he's also not a guy who is going to just take over and put the team on his back which is funny because it seemed liked he did that every time we played against Charlotte when Kyrie was here. Kemba was on the flip side of Kyrie's coin with Jose Calderon on it.

I think the problem with the Celtics is Brad Steven's system. Its something that can be broken down in a 7 game series. There is clearly a certain set of rules and if a good defensive team can break down those rules, they can easily push the ball to someone like Marcus Smart. Smart took 22 shots last night. Kemba took 15.

The Cavs were able to break down Steven's system every year. They have better pieces now but it's too system based. I think Kemba or Tatum can put a team on their back but it only seems like they allow that to happen when injuries pile up and they need to rely less on the system.

When your team is built on two stars with one who asked for a trade and the other left a championship team, there isn't any room just to see if chemistry grows next year with the same group. They needed to shake something up and coaching is probably the easiest thing to do.
