I anticipate this team being active given the veterans who don't fit our timeline and could held a team get over the hump (but probably wont). The league, outside of the Clippers (who are an injury concern!), seems to have some decent parity at the top currently. Any ideas come to mind?

I've been scouring around looking at ways to move Thompson/Henson to contenders, but haven't really found a ton thus far. Teams either have enough big man depth (for now) or don't have a realistic way to make contracts match up.

One trade that does work is John Henson to OKC for Andre Roberson & a 2020 2nd round pick. Roberson is coming off a horrible patellar tendon rupture and has had numerous setbacks. He's already out a few weeks at the start of this season, and there's a chance that his lateral movement is going to impact his defense (his one true calling card in the league).

If Roberson is trash, I'd be fine with sending Henson over for him and maybe a second rounder and/or solid young prospect. The Thunder have questionable big man depth, and I feel like the tank really isn't going to be on there since they still have a somewhat decent core of CP3/SGA/Adams/Gallinari.

I wonder if we could prize Mikal Bridges from the Suns... they just drafted a clone of him with pick 11 and his minutes keep getting lower and lower. Would be a really nice 3/D player for us

Didn't we also draft the white Mikal Bridges? Bridges and Windler with Garland at PG would be fun though. A wing rotation with Windler, Bridges, KPJ, Osman would be cool.

If we did I'm going to love Windler

Similar players. Windler better on offense. Bridges better on defense. But both skinny lengthy 3-D players.

Thompson honestly makes sense for someone like the Clippers. Who could use some more size. And the Clippers have a few expendable young pieces.

Out: TT
In: Mfiondu Kabengele, Jerome Robinson, Rodney McGruder, Harris TPE

ESPN is showing the Clipps still have the Harris TPE but that may not be the case. If they do, something like the above would be a way for the Cavs to add two young players while reducing payroll. And Mifo fits nicely in to JB's system. Just cut or waive McGruder.

Don't see a need for Robinson, McRuder. I feel confident in our 2 guard rotation with Cedi, Windler, Porter, Sexton(???).
I'd rather take a 1st from someone. Not taking someone else's trash that don't even fit. Kabengele could be nice, but still not worth TT.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like Kabevgele, but I also want a late 1st.

I'm not sure you can use a TPE in conjunction with players. Also Robinson sucks, McGruder is meh. I would pass on taking other teams trash just to get a big we passed on 5 months ago. Kabengale is nice and all but I would prefer a first or a deal where we don't take as much trash.

Honestly, there are too many rules to follow. I couldn't find a clear answer on player plus TPE, just that multiple TPE's cannot be combined. Salary matching becomes almost impossible with LAC if you don't have it though......which is unfortunate because I do think they are a suitor who would make sense.

That aside.....

Robinson sucks? I mean, I'm not sure how you make that assessment at this point. He's 22 and in his second year. I'll reserve judgement until he gets some burn. He has nice scoring potential and is bigger than either Sexton or Garland. He'd potentially be a nice body in a 3-4 guard rotation. Worth a tire kick given his talent.

We passed on Kabengale to take a wing we like more. This now qualifies him as not worth acquiring? Ok. Much rather have someone like Mifo than a future pick from LA......especially so over a 2020 pick looking at how it thins out at the back half.

McGruder is just salary filler to make the trade work.

Part of it for me is I don't have a great handle on what TT's league wide value might be.......to me, something like that package seems right. Robinson has been the odd man out in the LAC rotation but was a late lottery pick, Mifo was a 1st this past year......I'm not sure how you can do much better than that +filler. Guess we'll see.

Kabengale was picked at the end of the first round. Also Clippers couldn't deal us a first even if they wanted too. We got Windler and KPJ at the end of the first round this year. Gotta wait and see on them but so far Koby has drafted well. I also don't view the Clippers as a viable option for TT. They are happy with Zubac at C. Harrell is their backup C/PF and PG13 is going to start at PF when he comes back. Where is there room for TT?

Don't hate it, I do have a mate who is a clippers fan and he was asking about TT before he even destroyed the Pacers. I think we should 100% cash in on TT, I know its tempting and easy to get attached to him with the way he i splaying but we have to remember e are at the start of a rebuild and its more worthwhile cashing him in with his history of up and down play. Whether thats the trade I'm not sure, don't hate it though

Mavs could use TT
