2019-2020 Cavaliers fantasy trade thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
**Edited**

Cavs Get:
Rubio
Hield
Holmes
Barnes
#10

Kings Get:
Drummond
Cedi
Exum

Suns Get
Garland
Windler
#5

Drummond still helps the Kings win this year, but mainly they get out of Barnes' and Hield's contracts. With Exum and Drummond expiring, they clear around $38 mill off the cap. Cedi could potentially start next to Bogdanovic or come off the bench. Suns get a young PG to groom and have the pieces to make a move for LaMelo.

At #10 I'd draft Patrick Williams

Sign Jerami Grant

PG: Rubio, Sexton
SG: Hield, KPJ
SF: Grant, Williams
PF: Love, Barnes
C: Holmes, Nance

That's a really versatile team. In 2021, we'd have our 1st plus a bunch of money in free agency. We aren't going to land one of the top guys, but Gobert, Adams, or Hayward would be great on that team. Guess you can always float the idea of LeBron coming back to finish his career with that team. Highly doubtful, but that team would be built for him.

Might as well do a couple (including Sacramento!)

Trade #1

Cavs Get
Rubio
Oubre
#10

Suns Get
Garland
Cedi
Exum
#5

Cavs get a veteran PG to lead that team that's able to play with Sexton. Oubre is young and still developing on the wing. Suns get a young PG to develop, replacement depth for Oubre, expiring money in Exum. Then they also get the pick swap with the chance to add another young wing with Booker and Ayton while freeing up some money for FA next year.

Trade #2

Cavs Get
Hield
Barnes
Bagley

Kings Get
Love
Drummond
Windler

Kings are likely going to be looking to dump both Hield and Barnes contracts. With Love the Kings get another steady scoring option. Drummond is a useful player and cap relief. Windler is a cheap replacement for Hield. Also, this would mean they'd go into free agency next year with a bunch of money and Fox, Bogdanovic, and Love under contract.

This would leave the Cavs roster as:
PG: Rubio, Sexton
SG: Hield, KPJ
SF: Oubre, Barnes
PF: Bagley
C: Nance

No real standouts on the roster, but a solid team with space to grow. Would need to fill in the front court, but you'd have #10 and some money in FA to do so. From what it looks like, with those eight under contract (and #10) we would have around $55 million in cap space in 2021.

While the Cavs are unlikely to sign any top-level free agents, there's a few guys I could see considering that roster next year. Namely Hayward, Steven Adams, and Gobert, along with some lesser free agents. Put any one of those guys on that roster and suddenly it's a very interesting team if players continue to develop. This would also put us in a significantly better position to make additional trades down the road.

I've been the only one touting a Rubio trade for some time now. Welcome to that group!
But, I doubt the Suns will give up both Rubio and Oubre for that price. I have mentioned Rubio + #10 = #5 + Exum + Sexton/Garland. That might be workable. And that might be ALL we will need. Rubio is a great distributor, had played with Love before, and will be a nice mentor for the young guards.

We will need to sign TT in order to be able to trade Drummond should that opportunity arise (may be for Barnes). But if we can really get a good distributor like Rubio (or, may be, just may be, we draft Ball/Avdija/Haliburton and he turns out to be a great floor general), a Love-Drummond back court might work out well.

Theoretically, we have most of the pieces - but they need to live up to their potential. We just need a playmaking leader.

I'm leaning towards trading the 5th pick. There's a lot of veterans that I'd be interested in if Wiseman and Deni are off the board.

Cleveland trades:
Andre Drummond 28.7 million
Dante Exum 9.6 million
Jordan Bell 1.8 million
Bucks unprotected pick

Kings trade:
Marvin Bagley 8.9 million
Cory Joseph 12.6 million
Bogdan Bogdanovic sign and trade starts at 18 million

Judges?

I'm probably the biggest fan of Bogs, and would welcome such a trade *if* their were protections on that Bucks pick, or if it were removed from the deal (replaced?) altogether.

Turner to Cavs, Drummond to Celtics, Hayward to Pacers --> seems to work straight up. Picks might be involved.

Would you do that?

Ainge would ask both GMs to throw in talented young players, picks and their daughters. Fuck trading with the Celtics.

Ainge actually asked for Turner + TJ Warren.

The Pacers apparently don't want to move TJ. So, if the Cavs think 3 years of Turner at ~$17 million is a good return for Drummond, then this is win-win for everyone, provided that the Celtics were trying to get Drummond.

Ainge overvalues his players so much. He should be giving up Hayward and assets for Turner, not asking for two guys better than Hayward. Especially when Hayward is an FA.

In a heartbeat. Turner is what this team needs. But the celts seems to be favoring him over Drummond.

Cavs get: John Wall & Deni Avdija

Wizards get: Larry Nance Jr., Dante Exum, Cedi Osman & Darius Garland

Why? Cleveland takes a flyer on John Wall hoping he returns to form. We get Avdija in return as well. Wizards get rid of Wall's contract in favor of some nice role players.

PG: John Wall / Collin Sexton
SG: Kevin Porter Jr. / Dylan Windler
SF: Deni Avdija / Isaac Okoro
PF: Kevin Love
C: Andre Drummond
Coach: J.B. Bickerstaff

Philly gets:
Darius Garland
Cedi Osman
Kevin Love
Future Pick(s)?

Cleveland gets:
Ben Simmons

Cavaliers:
PG: Sexton/Exum
SG: Windler/KPJ
SF: Simmons/Okoro
PF: Nance/Wade
C: Drummond/Mcgee

That's a team with defense and enough shooting to complement Ben Simmons. Philly gets Love who pairs well with Embiid and their future point guard in Garland. Osman can also help space the floor for their team.

Sixers:
PG: Garland/Milton/Maxey
SG: Thybulle/Curry/Osman
SF: Korkmaz/Green/Scott
PF: Love/Harris/Reed
C: Embiid/Howard

But where does Koby get the necessary compromising photos on Morey to rob him like that? Thee way trade with Houston?
