I thought it might be fun to center discussion of this years rookie progress in its own thread.

Best PER so far?
Brandon Clarke 22
Ja Morant 18.9
Jaxon Hayes. 16.62

Only guys in the top 200 I believe.. for comparison the Cavs have only two players in the top 100. Love and Clarkson..

Surprised Hayes isn't getting more chatter. Only young-gun rookie other than Morant who's actually been consistently productive.

Well Rui Hachimura has been playing starter minutes for Washington and playing well. Brandon Clarke has been steady.

Cam Johnson has answered the question about his shooting and we have seen flashes from Hunter and Reddish in Atlanta.. I personally think it is an easier transition for wings and centers, because the game is less complex and more about size/ athleticism. I think guards take the longest because they have to learn the most about the game to be effective..

Don't deny that some of the older rookies have been productive (though the Rui love confuses me a little...how useful is a wing who can't shoot and can't defend?). But it's more interesting when younger rookies are immediately impactful, because they're more likely to take the big developmental leaps necessary to become stars.
