Felt like Thornwell was such an obvious choice and yet they go Martin. I really dont see the point of Martin with our glut of bigs + Wade. Thornwell at least offered defense on the wing, something we have nothing of.
Thornwell is trash and roster isn't final yet. Martin and Bolden could still be cut for other options for the 15th man and second two way spot.

Personally dont think Thornwell is trash (for an end of roster guy), could be a handy defensive wing. But you are right about other options, I hope they are looking elsewhere

Bielein wants wings who can't shoot. Thornwell can't shoot. In this system he is trash.

Also with Zizic being out first 4 weeks and Henson being glass. Keeping another big like Martin or Bolden makes some more sense with KLove expected to also get random days off throughout the season. Right now only healthy bigs are KLove TT and Nance. If KLove takes a day off can't roll with Nance and TT alone up front.

Wade looks better than Martin

Wade also only has 45 days he can be up which will likely be saved for later in the season. Martin is a guy who can fill in spot minutes early in the season then easily cut when everyone is healthy. Why waste Wades 45 days in Cleveland early in the year?

Seems to have a much better connection with Garland. Think most of his buckets in preseason have come off Garland assists. Martin can’t even set a screen for Garland. Rather have Wade out there and then see if he is worthy of being converted

What is the most probably starting 5? And who are the next 5, I likely order of game-entry/minutes?

Martin gone (thank god). Have to sign one more player, best available from what I have seen:
- Davon Reed G/F
- Ivan Rabb F/C
- Alfonzo McKinnie F
- Yante Maten F

Have two spots open. I would grab Rabb Reed Maten in that order. Zero interest in McKinnie. Mckinnie is what he is he's 27 can't play defense.

I like Reed. We really need a backup SF, 3 guard line up with no shot blocker is basically a layup line for the opposition.

Rabb is ok but doesn’t really add a point of differences from our other bigs, don’t mind Mckinnie he’s productive from what I have seen. Maten seems to just be a g league beast that can’t bring it to the next level

Reed is okay.
Rabb has upside still.
Maten is very similar to Tyler Cook. Kind of a tweener who is athetlic but not actually good at basketball.
McKinnie just doesn't fit our time line age wise. He's not a good defender. Can hit threes and rebound decently enough. But I just don't see the point of adding a 27 year old who isn't a long term fit and not really good for a short term cause he may take developmental minutes from KPJ or Windler when he comes back.

Maten only played 13 NBA minutes...seems premature to say he can't bring it to the next level. Some stretch 4 potential. Not sure he's exactly what we need though. Reed makes sense.

True, he wasn’t great in that last game against cavs

Yeah, would be hard to justify ever giving him minutes over Wade, who's already on the team and arguably has more potential to develop into a handy roleplayer.
