2019 Around the MLB

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was hoping he would stay in our organization since he is from the Columbus area (Dublin). He was defense only so not a big loss in the end, but we do lack upper level INFs
Clears the way for Ernie Clement to take over in CBus & that might not be a bad thing....

What's going to happen to the Astros? Vacating 2017 and loss of draft picks? My money is on sweeping it under the rug.

Initially saw it as a bad thing. I guess how could you not from the headline "MLB Proposal Would Eliminate 42 Minor League Teams" ?

Seems to make sense though, especially if the below goals are sincere:
The list of the 42 minor league teams has been released via the NY Times.

Yes, Mahoning Valley on the chopping block.
Kinda surprised that San Antonio TX/ Fresnso CA/ Beloit WI are NOT on the chopping block list...

Tried making a table of the info to condense list so easier to reference...

I used to go to Voyagers games when I was little but my dad still talks about it. I get what MLB is trying to do, but at the same time it will do a ton of damage in some communities as well. The owners in the articles aren’t wrong at the end of the day. If you take away professional ball players it will be hard to keep people coming to the stadiums so you just essentially put a good 1000 players out of jobs and so this would effect thousands of people at the end of the day.

Baseball I think would still be a good sport even if they expanded so maybe instead of cutting 42 teams like that get 2 more MLB rosters and then phase out the other teams in the minors after that. It won’t save everyone but it would make the transition a little better in the end.

Wow. If the mlb goes through with this and kills the Power here in Charleston, WV, it’ll get nasty around here.
not to mention a fun thing for the kids to do. Tix are less than $5 and it’s a fairy new/beautiful field.

So what do we think will ultimately be the Astros' punishment?

From my point of view, this is the worst cheating scandal in baseball history. Maybe you can argue steroids were worse, but that was individuals, not an entire organization.

I think at minimum we'll see their world series rescinded.

Id hate to not see a WS winner for 2017, but it
may end up that way.
I think a multi million dollar fine, loss of many 1st and 2nd picks is definitely warranted.

Also, it’s not just the fact that they were stealing signs, but relaying it to players at bat in real time. Absurd

I have season tickets to the local orioles short season A squad. I think half the damn league was just cut. Im shocked the Ironbirds werent. There is a ton of back and forth about who is actually going to take care of that stadium.

glad it wasnt, but with most of the league gone im curious who they will play. Also probably explains why I heard about season tickets next year, then got nothing after that. Usually im getting calls every 2 weeks asking me to re-new
