2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm clearly not writing enough in the Browns section these days and my auto-correct is all out of whack. Thanks for that, LOL.
I had to.

But it’s a great point. Saving a buck matters given that we’re living off of rollover cap right now, and Gillan gives us that opportunity for multiple seasons. There’s little doubt he’d be serviceable, even if he’s not Colquitt.

It just pains me to say it because I really like a punter with gumption and Colquitt is the man. He’s one of very few punters that fits in the NFL locker room.

It just doesn't make sense for a team with a good offense to pay a premium for the printer position. Colquitt on the Sachi Brown Brownies made sense... now? Give me the cheap guy who will figure it out as he goes. This year the Browns can lose in the playoffs and nobody will complain, that gives Hammer a year to figure all this American Football stuff out.

Two pivotal pieces that made sure AJ McCarron did not become a Brown for a king's ransom

As acute as the 1-31 pain was, if you told me in 2017 that we would be division favorites in 2019 season...thanks for setting the table Sashi.

Sashi sets em up, Dorsey knocks em down. Good luck in DC.

The reports of Sashi's death have been greatly exaggerated.

Before we wrap up, let's go back to the new beginning. I want to make sure we're clear on something: Are you or are you not excited about playing in Cleveland?

I'm so excited about the opportunity that I have to be in Cleveland! I think it goes for everything I stand for when I talk about legendary. The Catch was cool. It was legendary, in a sense. But legendary is going to Cleveland and trying to win a championship. And I have to go back to this comment because I said something recently about being the Patriots: Who does not get into this game to be 11-and-5 or 12-and-4 every season, to win their conference, to win the championship, to go to the Super Bowl? What else would you do this for? Every year at the Giants, when they'd ask me, “What are your goals this year?” I would say to win a Super Bowl. There's no sugarcoating it. Even if you feel like your team can't do it, the goal is to win the Super Bowl. I don't understand what else I'm playing for. Playing to have a good season? No, bro. I'm trying to win the Super Bowl.

Two things stood out to me in that article:

1) OBJ clearly is a gifted athlete. He could have been a stud NBA player or legitimate professional golfer. He chose the NFL. That not only means he loves football, but also that his talent is mental just as much as it is physical.

2) He also shares the same underdog mentality as Baker and Jarvis. That is huge and should add a lot of dynamics to our Browns.

Thanks for that, but this is why I hate reporters. Who give a crap about his hair. How do you put going to Cleveland in the same headline as his hair. He could have pink pig tails for all I care as long as he helps us make the playoffs and win a super bowl.

Oh, my mistake, its for GQ....say hi to Kevin Love for us Odell, lol.

Also sounds as though OBJ knows he is young and immature. Not, omg, i have to grow up quickly. But, more along the lines that he's immature, or has been, for someone in the spotlight so much being a famous athlete. He's still trying to figure out his limits, and I really don't have a problem with it. His fame skyrocketed because of the catch. Really think that being around his bestie Jarvis, who is more grounded, will pay dividends for his "fame" maturity

Yep!

Also, one thing about OBJ - I have never heard a teammate or coach publicly criticize him, even after the trade. The only ones who do it are "anonymous sources."
