2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If Trent Williams is available, and happy with his current contract, I give up a second for him immediately. He's one of the best tackles in football, and might be the best tackle in the league when you consider fit with this offense.

Giving our offensive line an identity with the best left side in football? That's disgusting when you add in Baker, our weapons, and our coaching.

Again, paper means shit, but we're possibly the most talented offense in the NFL on paper with the addition of Williams.

Regarding Trent Williams, many assumed he wanted a new deal and paid lore money but now several people close to the situation are reporting Williams has requested to be traded or released and his bridge with the Redskins has been burned over a medical issue.

Just like what the Redskins went through with Sua Cravens, supposedly Williams had a cancer scare with a growth removed from his scalp and was offended reportedly to the point of no repair with how the Redskins medical staff handled it.

The price reportedly will be a 2nd if things can’t be mended. If he demands a trade or release and holds out, the longer he holds out the lower his compensation price goes down with each passing day IMO.

What sucks is say hypothetically Williams is acquired, a significant piece that could have been included in a trade package was Desmond Harrison. The Redskins put a claim on him and we’re next in line after the Cardinals on the waiver order.
I can’t imagine Des Harrison being a stumbling block.

We can trade GRob with only 500k dead money if Washington wants a left tackle.

Redskins LT Trent Williams posted an Instagram story which appears to show him getting ready for an operation.
Williams had a non-cancerous tumor removed earlier this year, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports this is just a minor clean-up procedure. Unhappy with both his contract and how team doctors handled his medical situation, Williams is holding out from the offseason program and has demanded a trade. Losing Williams would be a massive blow to Washington's thin tackle group.

I, personally don’t believe the Monken report. They’ve always talked about Freddie and Monken as collaborating together on the offense.

NFL Network's Mike Silver reports the Browns' transition to new OC Todd Monken has "not gone as smoothly as planned."
Per Silver, this has "resulted in coach Freddie Kitchens playing a greater role in spearheading the offense than originally intended." It's eye-brow raising after Monken earned an in-season demotion from the Bucs last season despite putting a ton of yards on the board. This always had the potential to be a volatile situation after Kitchens revived the Browns offense then earned a promotion. We'll see what happens in training camp.

I guess this was bound to happen when we’ve become media darlings...

It’s not even training camp of course the team hasn’t grasped the system yet.

Why are we dismissing the reports? Just because we don't like them?

Both coordinators are major concerns for me, and I wouldn't be surprised if things weren't perfect between Monken and Freddie. It's definitely awkward having your head coach be the real guy in charge of the offense and figuring out how you fit in.

I'm sure Freddie and Monken want things to go smoothly, with no drop off, but Monken isn't nearly the same level of OC as Kitchens.

I wonder how many of Hue’s loads Mike swallowed while writing these stories.

Fully expecting strong denials from the Browns on both.
