2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You all better get used to having Landry. If you would trade him because of his contract be ready for Odell to ask for a trade to leave as well. Landry is part of the core guys that changed the entire attitude of this team, he’s going nowhere.

Pretty hilarious to call Higgins better than Juice. Based on what? Baker is why Higgins looks good, not Higgins. Hollywood will most likely be gone next year.

I am going full head in the sand on this one. Higgins stays, Juice stays, OBJ stays, and Njoku stays.
The OL somehow becomes plug and play bc the OL coach is so good.
Baker feasts.
Chubb stays.
Everyone loves winning. Dynasty.

I would think Landry restructures his deal to stay.

This is a dream scenario for a guy like him. Playing with Baker and Beckham AND getting paid really well. He seems to love the city and fully embraced his role as a veteran leader.

Hopefully his play is better this year than last and this won't even be a discussion.

Save one year, Landry has been very average efficiency wise. He’s a high usage guy with mediocre production.

Higgins was way more efficient last year. Baker is the first non replacement level QB he’s had so of course he looks better with Baker.

I don’t know what Higgins’ efficiency would be with Landry’s usage. I definitely think it’s at least an interesting discussion.

There are far worse players that could have been best friends with OBJ than Landry. If keeping Landry around long term is the price to keep OBJ here long term, then I'll be fine with that.

Higgins looked great with Gilbert and Stanton throwing him the ball too on Thursday. He had that 38 yard play from Stanton where he got wide open over the middle, juked a defender, and got the ball down to the one yard line. He had a 21 yard play with Gilbert as well.

Editing this post to add in some advanced stats...

Here's where Higgins ranked last year in the following metrics among NFL receivers:
Yards per reception (14.7) - 30th
Yards per target (10.6) - 7th
Catch rate (72.2%) - 15th
True catch rate (92.9%) - 5th
Target separation (1.67) - 23rd
Drop rate (7.4%) - #22

Dude's just a really good wide receiver.

I dare you to find out where he ranked in those very same metrics in Baker’s starts. DARE. YOU.

You need to keep Hollywood, but if he’s expecting top 20 contract, bye.

In case any of you were thinking the Ravens were going to simply cut him...

Orson Charles was one of the better special teams coverage players last year. Coach Priefer must feel pretty good about the offseason acquisitions to let him walk.

Charles was also a FB, so they must feel confident they dont want one this year.

Additionally, they cant like what they've seen regarding their 3rd TE options. Devalve cant stay healthy, Brown is awful and Carlson didnt seem to be anything close to an NFL talent.

An anonymous source mentioned Orson Charles had an issue with keeping locker room chatter to himself. Take that for what you would like.

Rico Gathers on the other hand didn't play football in high school or college. He was a big time project for the Cowboys who needed more time to develop as a blocker.
