2019 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If Fields is cleared to play, I am fully expecting this team to make the playoffs next year.

But we'll get stiff competition from 4 loss LSU, 5 loss Mississippi and 6 loss South Carolina

All would have strong cases if they lost to Alabama or Georgia by 18

Just read the ESPN article on this Fields/Tate situation. I didn't realize Fields was originally committed to Penn State and he was only a 3 star recruit until his senior season.

Okudah, Wade and Arnette with White and Fuller in the secondary.

Coached by Jeff Hafley...

....y'all

You're about to see a return to elite defensive play at this university. Al Washington will undoubtedly have the LB group playing at a higher level and nearly everyone returns there.

Tuf Borland gets a full off-season to get better, faster, stronger. Something he didn't have last year.

Werner, Browning, Harrison all return.

Obviously, the DL will continue to play at a high level, Chase Young can launch himself into the conversation as the best EDGE player in the country.
Man, I really hope so. 2018 was just brutal, and 2017 wasn't very good either on the defensive side of the ball.

If we see a return to elite defense, this team should absolutely make the playoff this upcoming season.

I don't think next year is the year personally. Our schedule is a gauntlet down the stretch. The Big 10 is the exact opposite of the SEC when it comes to scheduling. We have a gauntlet down the stretch, and I don't see OSU going unscathed.

The one upside, is the SEC was under .500 in bowl games for the second straight year, and Bama got smoked in the championship. We'll see how long people's memories are, but hopefully the Big 10 gets more respect. I definitely do not expect an undefeated regular season. Hopefully we can land in the Big 10 championship though and take care of business.

Man that Miami team was loaded with guys who ended up doing real well in the NFL:
McGahee
Andre Johnson
Sean Taylor
Vince Wilfork
Jonathan Vilma
Winslow

Combine it with the OSU guys who did well in the NFL and you half an All Pro starting lineup
Will Smith
Gamble
Will Allen
AJ Hawk

Fucking always thought Clarett has some of the most natural talent in a running back I've ever seen and he was just too fucked in the head to use it (great vision for a running back)

Don’t swing and miss twice

Does Tate have to sit out or if he graduates he can play one year? How does this work?

He'll have to sit out, unless he petitions the NCAA to grant a waiver.

Doesn't sound like he was on track to graduate, as was reported.

Rumor is he plans on requesting a waiver based on what OSU told him about Urban Meyer retiring (using Shea Patterson as precedent).

To that I'll just say....good luck w/ that.

I think Day needs to go out and find another QB now. I don't think a transfer makes sense, a good transfer isn't coming in to sit behind Fields and possibly Baldwin. Also relying on transfers to replace depth is risky, it could set up the QB room to have a collape of depth when you deal with limited years and constantly having to recruit multiple QBs a year.

Day needs to see if there is a good high school QB who might not have the highest ceiling but will be happy to be a backup. Someone on the lines of Guiton or Cardale. Someone that should be with the team 4 or 5 years and can be counted on for spot duty. Maybe even compete to start in year 3 or 4 if they hit their ceiling.

Putting a true freshman out there next season isn’t going to take away from the fact you’re fucked, in the case of Fields and Baldwin being injured.
