2019 Cleveland Browns Regular Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
For all the ruinous prognosticators, there is reason to be hopeful.

For the first time since 2007, the Browns actually have a lot of talent.

So, yeah, they could go 6-2 to finish the season. All they have to do is play up to the level they are capable of.

This isn't a David and Goliath story of a scrappy team trying to beat opponents out of their league. This Goliath vs. himself.

What if...

we don't actually have a lot more talent than usual, because our CBs/TEs [due to current injury state] OL, and S are all worse than last year? And arguably LB, when you look at Collins' current NE season?

To say nothing of how much Baker has regressed, whether due to weight, teams "figuring him out" whatever that means, coaching, etc.

With the one position we improved significantly, I'm starting to wonder if the argument that WRs don't matter much for Ws and Ls has some merit.

I'm really wondering if WRs don't matter much for Ws and Ls.

Entirely possible.

Possible that the deficiencies are being un-masked in such brutal fashion because good QB play last year hid them.

So goes Baker, so goes the Team. Maybe this needed to happen to take the next step by addressing them instead of being fooled because things were going alright.

However, I also think their play-calling does NO favors. Having Nick Chubb means some of Baker's struggles should be compensated for. Again, bad play-calling.

Im not going to assume we just beat anyone with the way we have played this year.

I will say this, something about facing an undefeated NE smells like an upset.

with the way the Pats are playing? No chance.

2-5 is coming. Fast.

If you beat the patriots? that would be a minor miracle

It's not even a question of the Browns being "bad" more of the Patriots being on a level of Dynasty that would rival the 1946-1964 Browns.

I think a "healthy" Kansas City has the horses to match with them but they sure as shit don't have the better coaching.

That's it really.

We are going to lose by 100 and Baker will literally die on the field

If it gets this nasty? i'd have Gilbert take snaps in the 3rd.

That's not an insult toward Baker's ability but there's no use getting him banged up and his confidence dying.

I'd put it at the level of 2012 Arizona winning @ NE....where the Cards' TE coach was some guy named Freddie Kitchens, and Ryan Lindley was their backup QB.

It's still an extremely long shot, but NE's offense has regressed a lot, and they barely held on against the only decent team they've played.

It absolutely is a '46-'64 level Browns dynasty, although at the time they were near the end of a 10-year Lombardi-less streak, and people were earnestly wondering if TB/BB could win without their trusty video camera.

I’ve seen enough. The Browns are going to beat the Patriots.

In the 4th quarter, the Browns will lose a pointless challenge by Freddie Kitchens. Then, when he rips off his headset in frustration at the call, it accidentally pulls off his mask revealing him to actually be Hue Jackson.

The team has the talent to beat anybody on any given Sunday, but as an organization, they also have the ability to beat themselves on any given Sunday.. The team has to grow together to be predictably competitive. The gambling odds are less indicative of what we will do on a specific week, than how well we are prepared for that game..
