2019 Cleveland Browns Training Camp

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why bring in Braxton Miller? He is behind others, hasn't looked that good in 2 years, and frankly might be our biggest position of strength.

Maybe a favor to his agent? Or do we think he can win the job.

I think you bring him in for versatility. WR, RB, and wildcat QB. They can create a package for him and how much they use or don't use that package can be based on available players.

Hunt waiting to come back will be a huge addition so we can look non tradition RB as our #3 RB until then. Maybe Braxton just get the chance to prove himself at a bunch of positions. His spot on the 53 man is just seen as a variable between RB, WR, and maybe he just take the spot that a FB would have taken in the past while a TE picks up some of those duties. He could be an emergency #3 QB that actually gets playing time.

When you can play 4 positions but are bad at all 4, are you really versatile or just not NFL worthy.

I vote not NFL worthy. I don't see a way Braxton makes the roster.

Freddie says he will play starters vs Bucs but definitely not the week after.

I think he can be good at getting screen, pitches, and direct snaps. Stuff that you don't want your star players getting because it just puts wear and tear on them, where their talents are better spent on what they do very well. Using Braxton creatively can keep guys like OBJ, Landry, and Chubb healthy.

Jarvis can do all of that and actually be a good receiver. Bring him and lets see, but so little chance he actually makes the team.

I like the idea someone had about using him with the practice squad as a zone-read and RPO QB - the sort of stuff Lamar Jackson does. While obviously Miller is no Lamar, it could help get our defense better prepared for making quick decisions on the fly and remaining disciplined with their assignments.

Yea Jarvis can do all that stuff but if he gets hurt on some play like that you lose your #2 WR. Teams try to limit those plays for their really good players because they usually get hit by multiple defenders. If Braxton who might slot in at #6 WR or #3 RB gets hurt on those plays it won't hurt the team much at all. If we lose Jarvis, that's a major hit to our WR group.

Yea I like that idea too. If he does it well with the scout team, the coaching staff can allow him to do it as a wildcat QB or in some creative 2 pt conversions.

I'd prefer to give those touches to guys that are actually good football players.
