2019 Cleveland Browns Training Camp

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Snagged some tickets on Twitter, made the first practice:

OBJ moves like gravity and physics don't really apply to him. It's so noticeable when you watch him live, it takes one plant foot and he bursts in a different direction.

Callaway has that same movement ability.

They are legit 8 to 10 deep at WR.

Duke Johnson got woke the fuck up by Takitaki. Taki absolutely blasted him and Duke came back at him extremely pissed off. Good for the rookie, he gave it right back to him.'

Baker's arm is still insane.

Corners played a lot of off zone today. So it was to be expected that the WR lit them up. Greedy, especially, struggled in trying to stay in his area and make plays.

Hillard has moves on moves

Kitchens wasn't joking about his emphasis on ST work. Did some mid practice before 11 on 11's then did some after. Broke them up into groups too, like gunner and protection units. Smart.

Fans are fucking AMPED.

Really hard to take anything with DL or OL, but I did notice that Garrett and Vernon were switching sides to deal with TE's (Garrett weakside, Vernon strongside). Corbett was with the 1s.

Didn't really notice linebackers outside of Taki, Schobert and definitely Avery, who made a few plays in pass coverage.

Think that's all I got. AMA

I thought they were just in jerseys, helmets and shorts? Maybe that’s why Johnson was pissed that Taki hit him?

They were and it almost certainly was why Duke got mad.

Still, with pads on, it was a "disrespectful" hit. Taki blew him the fuck up. Duke probably would have been mad either way.

Also, I don't hate it, because Greedy played timid today. I'd rather see Taki go all out than see what I did from Greedy today.

I had tickets today, too. Our seats didn't have a great view of the team stuff, so I don't have much to add.

We had a great view of the OLine individuals drills. One thing stood out: every time Forbes took a rep, Campen would teach him and make him do it over. He rarely did it for any other player, be it starter or camp body. But it wasn't like Campen was yelling at him. It seemed like he wanted to spend as much time as he could teaching Forbes. I got the feeling Forbes is his "project"...turn him into a starter by next year.

Forgot one thing, OBJ tried to one hand a couple of Baker's passes. Didn't come even close and stopped trying to do it after a couple of attempts.

He learned pretty quickly that Baker is no Eli. No lollipops to one hand anymore.

Couple clips in case some of you haven't seen it yet:

Holy shit. Mitchell had good coverage on both, and had good over the top safety coverage on the other. The accuracy and hands is amazing. I couldn't see who threw that, but I am guessing first team vs first team so its Baker.

If that's what we get on Sundays? Watch out...better than I would have though for day one.

Odell has to be smiling at the accuracy, its not that Manning got old, he was never this close to accurate.

Baker threw both, back to back reps. Also the 1st 2 reps of 11 on 11's were both of those plays. It was incredible.

Every time I watch Baker, I worry that the dream is somehow going to end, and he's going to revert to the kind of accuracy we've seen around here for the last 20 years.

Then he throws the ball, and it's jaw-drop time again. He's just unbelievably good at ball placement.
