2019 Cleveland Browns Training Camp

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dorsey sucks, really no other way to put it.

Not sure if this is serious. It sure looks like Dorsey missed big time on Corbet, but 50% of the first round busts much less 2nd round. He had 4 picks in the first 2 rounds and hit on 3 of them. He beat the odds, just couldnt hit all 4

Yeah, the Dorsey criticism was sarcasm. Sarcasm never plays well in print.

There should certainly be some context with the Corbett pick. The 2018 draft looked like a bad draft for offensive line, but a few players have outperformed expectations. The really weird part came from where Corbett was selected since some of the other guys taken later - Ragnow, Braden Smith, Hernandez - were consistently ranked a round higher than Corbett leading up to the draft.

The good news is that Corbett was originally supposed to be a project who would eventually play center. If it is taking longer than expected, Tretter is still playing very well. My current concern is that Kush has looked good in pass protection but hasn't looked like a difference maker opening holes. As the season plays out, it would be great if Drew Forbes makes progress.

Corbett didn't look bad last year when he was playing LG in the preseason. I personally think they are giving him alot of time at center because they need someone who can swing over and fill in at center if anything happens to Tretter.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets another chance to win starting RG in the coming weeks. I think there is depth at guard at the moment but Corbett seems like the only option as the backup center currently. It's important that he get the time and snaps at center so he is ready if called upon. It might be actually more important for him to be ready to play center if needed for roster construction and depth than him being ready to be the starting RG.

I thought Corbett had some good moments at left guard last preseason, but that was a natural progression for a college left tackle. I mistakenly said Ragnow was taken after Corbett which wasn't correct, but the Bears took Daniels out of Iowa after Corbett, who has shown positional flexibility at guard and center spots. Everyone had Daniels as a better prospect than Corbett before the draft. For Corbett, the work at center began last season and continues this year, but I've seen holding penalties, bad snaps, and flat out getting put on roller skates this preseason. It's a concern, and hopefully it doesn't prove to be some major oversight.

Thats what Kush is. He will keep Baker clean, but will hopefully be average at run blocking with good coaching. I dont expect every better than just average at the run. As for Forbes, i thought he was a guard because of size and it looks like he is ahead of schedule from what i see as a late round rookie pick.

Hopefully Forbes does come along.

Gonna go against the grain here. For those of you outraged that Chubb wasn't the lead back from the get-go last year.... he was a completely different player by the end of the year. To open the season, he looked slow. It looked like he was still recovering from injury. There honestly wasn't much of a difference between him and Hyde. They looked really similar.

Obviously a fully healthy Chubb is the far superior player. But, to open last season, that player didn't exist yet.

He literally popped of for over 100 yards and 2 TDs on 3 carries against the Raiders in week 3.

And STILL wasn’t getting the lead back role or even an uptick in carries.

If anyone finds the time to rewatch or paid close attention any kind of detailed assessment of Forbes’ performance would be greatly appreciated.
