2019 Cleveland Browns Training Camp

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If at @billmac91's analysis is correct -- and it sure sounded that way to me -- then how well suited is Braxton to being used predominantly on running-type plays where he's pretty much guaranteed to get nailed at the end of each run?

Maybe I'm using the wrong acronym. I'm saying he can be efficient at get yards after the catch, not yards after contact. He is shifty which makes him an effective runner. I don't think he is someone that has the build or power to invite contact and run thru guys.

The running type plays I've suggested are more in line of what you would ask a 3rd down back to run which I think Braxton would be more of if they use him as a hybrid RB/WR.

It's seems like the simpler the route and catch is, the better he is at using his legs to get up field and make plays. He isn't a natural WR and his body control/balance seems completely off as a WR. I would try to get him the ball where he can get his feet set and use his vision and shiftiness to make plays.

I'll be interested to see how they use him tonight and how much playing time he gets with being here such a short time.

Any word on which (if any) starters are going to sit today?

Leroy Hoard, author of the 2nd best quote by Browns RB ever:

"If you need a yard, I'll get you 3. If you need 5 yards....I'll get you 3".

He had the greatest running style.

Run straight, and if they hit you, spin, spin round like a record player.

Sit 2 pro-bowl skill position players (Landry and Odell) and 2 other fringe pro-bowl players (Njuku and Chubb) and you are frustrated? Yeah that will happen, lol.

I was a bit frustrated too but saw plenty of missed passes that would have been catches by our true starting WR's. Yesturday is why I have said I just don't think Higgins can be a true #1 wr. He is just not dynamic enough, ofcourse he might be the best 3 or 4 WR in the league depending on what you think of Calloway.

Yep. Love me some Higgins, but life is much easier going against those #3 and 4 corners....

Is it just me or would Higgins have been the easier target on that back of the endzone throw to Harris?

Well Higgins is actually good. Oppose to Harris just being an athlete so yeah probably.
