Thursday he was getting close damn

It was only a matter of time. At this point I'm assuming his NBA career is over. Hope that's wrong, and it probably is wrong, but hope for the best plan for the worst.

Can someone tell me what is actually WRONG with him? What is a lower leg stress reaction? Where did it come from? Why did it suddenly appear, just before the season started? Why might it be career-ending?

wow that’s unfortunate . Hope he recovers well after surgery and has a great redshirt rookie season.

I am no doctor, but I think because it is in his leg rather than feet is actually a good thing? The surgery to repair it is better and I think he is less likely to have a repeat of this than if it was in his foot.

There aren't any guarantees though and maybe he is susceptible to this type of fracture. He was pretty healthy in college, so I don't think it will be an ongoing thing for him.

He is a four year player, and will be 24 before he ever plays an NBA game. That is late. Because of his age, he is not going to get much time to prove he is a player I think.

He will be fine long term, should see him in summer league

Of course he needs to heal up right and we ain't going anywhere anyhow. But how does this shit happen? These guys are young men, they eat and train right, they got the best doctors in the world, and yet they're out of commission for extended periods. idk

I figured this would would happen. It's a shame because I liked what I saw in the Summer League.

No reason to rush him. We have a great medical staff, if they believe surgery is the best route long term to have him fully healed then I'm glad the medical staff chose that route.

Seems like a good kid and a hard worker. Once he recovers he'll work hard to make his way back onto the court.

They waited to see if it would heal without surgery as they more than often do, it didnt and now they’re going to send him in to fix it. Surgery is always the last option for those about to suggest they should have just sent him in right away

No I am not a doctor, I just follow another sports team that had that many stress reactions in legs between 2014-2018 I learned a lot about them :/

Sucks. Wouldn't be nearly as bad if he were young. Since he is old as shit, it changed things.
