He has to do it more than a single preseason game, but I think he will. He can shoot, he can get some rebounds and he has decent passing vision.. I think some of the comments in this thread will not age well..
With him, it's always been strictly about his health, right? Does any reasonable take here have anything against his game when he is healthy?

Windler has played pretty solid all around in the minutes I've seen so far in pre-season. Tonight he got some threes off, so far so good.

Dylan always reminds me of Luke Jackson, great shooter and all around player with a high IQ. I was hoping he could do what Luke couldn’t stay healthy. If he can he can be a very good NBA player,

How is his defensive positioning?

Shooting is great, but ain't worth a shit if player is a sieve on the opposite end.

He's solid as far as positioning goes. He's got the IQ to really disrupt passing lanes, but there's some times he's a bit hesitant to go for it. That may be a coaching decision to not gamble for steals. Lateral quickness might be a step slow for the speed demons out there, but should be able to handle his own on all but the most premier wings.

I agree. He lacks the strength and explosiveness to go against the elite wings - but let’s be honest - those guys get their points against everyone.

Just want to say that Windler did good in today's preseason game. Had 9pts, 4reb and 4assist. He knows how to play the game, he leverages his threat to shoot with hard drives with purpose. One play I recall when he drove strong and threw a cross court pass that led to a Pangos corner three. He also is a good rebounder and defended Lavine well. I just hope he stays healthy this season with the lack of viable wings.

Cavs need to draft more of these seniors that can shoot the ball and play smart (cam johnson, kispert).

The most critical player on the Cavs roster this season IMO. I hope he can stay healthy. The black hole that is SF needs him to be. Ideally he'd make the spacing that much better over time.

He's solidifying a good spot for himself. He should be the 1st backup wing.

I actually thought he and Cedi played really well together. I like them at the 2 and 3. Gives a lot of length. Cedi is good pushing in transition and WIndler can pass the ball ahead.

He also had good minutes with Lauri and they got the ball to each other.

His playmaking is underrated right now. Maybe it isn't playmaking. He just makes instantaneous reads, which is awesome. His ability to make tough passes fast is wild. He can do it with either hand too.

highly underrated skill set in all of basketball is quick decision making. Windler has it down, rarely gets himself in trouble from what I've seen. If Collin played like that he'd be in line for a max contract and an all star game.

Really think that if he stays healthy, he's the key to making sense of all our rotations. But I need him to handle 28+ mins a game.
If he plays 28 games that would bring his career total to 59. Let’s see if he can get to 60 career games before we look for 28 minutes per game. The guy has 513 career minutes on him.
