2019 Draft, Pick #30 - Kevin Porter Jr., USC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Porter has great tools, the late pick is more about his ability to focus on using them. Hunter for example has demonstrated he can use them... If he gets his shit together, Porter is a great pick for us..

People are back to this section because of the Browns? that's frustrating in itself.
Well, in theory, this IS a basketball forum.. not much worth commenting on is out there though.

I'm a basketball fan though. I can't wait to have more traffic in here, but I don't want it for the wrong reasons. Go Browns. Go Cavs.

I don’t really go for any NFL team, I have tried but just don’t have the same passion as the Cavs

If the coaching staff is ecstatic for him, that good enough for me.

He seemed to give props to Gottlieb on twitter for something. Says a lot about a 19 year old coming into the league with question marks to shout out his female assistant coach that he barely knows.

She' been able to create a connection with him and has been imperative in his newfound love for eating clean. Turkey burgers galore.

Sounds like exactly what we were hoping from a Beilein staff and him. Gottleib seemed very at home and fitting right in all the summer league videos/interviews, and she herself said you have to find common ground with these guys, and once you do, you are in. If Porter trusts the staff, and it sounds like he is already seeing results from her advice, then he is definitely going to be in a better position to reach his potential.

What is this smell....? ...culture?

Bad news that Windler is hurt to start the season, but probably creates an opportunity for KPJ to get tons of playing time early on. I was a little worried he'd be the odd man out in the guard rotation because I imagine the Cavs would want to "showcase" Clarkson for a trade. Now they really have no choice but to play him, hopefully he balls out and proves he deserves to be a mainstay in the rotation.

I think we will see glimpses of the new guys, but early on at least, not that much.. in my opinion they will be cautious with Garlands knee. They will play Porter, in spots he can be immediately successful in.. All of these guys need to transform physically to NBA physically ready.. I think we will trade two of the expiring contracts for picks and bad contracts, the rest for second rounders , trade excpetions, or just let them walk for cap relief..

Maybe Windler not being ready until Dec isn’t the worst thing. 3 rooks is a lot to onboard at once.
