2019 Draft, Pick #30 - Kevin Porter Jr., USC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don't know why they don't just start Sexton at PG and Porter at Sg. Have Garland coming off the bench this season to play backups. Clearly he's not physically ready for the NBA.
That would not work. Sexton and Porter aren't a good combo. Sexton should come off the bench and be Clarkson. That is his destiny.

Sexton off the bench? While I'm not crazy about him , there isn't a better PG on the team at the present.
IMO the real weak spot is the 3..lots of people love Cedi..I don't see him in the same way.

I like Cedi, but he needs to get better defensively to continue starting. I would love to see him at sg off the bench with Windler at the 3. Get Okoro and start him. lol Dunno if he is actually big enough, but he is built

Yeah I kinda wanna see Cedi at the 2, maybe as a backup, kinda think he'll do well.

He should be handling the ball more, but maybe not against starters. I'd personally love Garland and Cedi off the bench. Start Sexton and KPJ and maybe Windler with Love and Drummond.

I think the Drummond move is to really see if a big center allows Sexton and Garland to play together without the huge defensive liability. Truly Sexton has out played Garland to this point but I doubt they give up on either anytime soon. They won't get the value back and with the way both are playing Garland probably goes to the bench if they want to promote Porter.

I personally think they won't move any of the young guys in or out of the starting lineup yet. No point in promoting or demoting someone for 3 months and we draft someone to take their spot.

I don't think they need to put Garland or Sexton on the bench to promote Porter. Just put Cedi on the bench. I wouldn't mind seeing a Garland, Sexton, Porter, Love, and Drummond line-up. Or even TT in for Love at times.

I think Porter is probably better built to be a long term SF than a SG. I'm just not sure they want to demote Cedi and promote Porter when SF or PF are probably the spots they try to draft this year.

I do hope to see some new lineups with Drummond. Maybe we will see some one guard, 3 wings, and Drummond lineups.

I am intrigued at that lineup more because of Porter at the 3 . I think he brings more in matchup problems and being more aggressive than Cedi.
Cedi has limits as to what he can do and how he matches up against other 3's. I don't see him developing a lot more than what he already is.

This guy needs to be starting for Garland

He probably should but it doesn't hurt Porters confidence to keep coming off the bench. It could crush Garland's confidence though if he is demoted.

I do hope the team has learned that just gifting a starting spot to a highly draft player isn't always good. Hopefully with Clarkson gone they won't do it again.

I see Cedi as a complementary player who will be at his best with good teammates around him, and at his worst with a poor team. I'm actually interested to see how he fits with Drummond and Love. I also agree with moving Garland to the bench so he has less pressure, replacing him with KPJ, and seeing how that 5 can play together.

I think everyones' confidence gets hurt when we lose games badly. Losing and playing badly is corrosive. Garland is going to have an entire offseason to work on his body/strength, and that should help his confidence anyway. He also may have more success going against backups, and that ultimately may be better for his confidence than continuing to be outmatched against starters.

Becomes more and more baffling how he didn’t at least go in the lottery. He’s still only 19, he’s shown more than all of Garland, Culver and Reddish have. He didn’t play much college either. Each month he has improved, his development is a lot more linear than Garlands so far
