Looks liek he has put on some weight. Looks good. Is he putting up that 3 faster? Looks like it. Like the different angles off the glass. He needs that in his game.

Looks good...not gonna lie. We need to give him time..
I feel like after watching those videos it demonstrates he still suffers from his biggest issue. He is just bad at creating separation. Its a combination of size, release point and speed. Good to see the defense getting physical on him though

You know who else was pretty bad at creating separation but had LOADS of success?

he isn't as quick as he was in college, but hopefully that will come. Nonetheless, he creates enough separation to get his own shot, and if his shot translates to an actual nba game, then we might have something here. To me he is clearly an excellent shooter in an open gym.

Really?! Using one of the greatest passers of all time in a revolutionary system as your example seems a bit rich. Also Nash was better at separation than garland. I like Darius but he cannot create his own shot efficiently

I can literally pull up half a dozen Steven Nash videos where he explains how to create separation. How to use angles, his hips, etc. I legitimately question how much you actually watched Steve Nash if you don't think he could create separation. The takes are too hot for me.

Basically, at this point if Garland doesn't improve athletically, he mostly resembles Steph Curry in how he would be able to create separation. They way they operate with the ball is quite similar. He will need to show that he can shoot in game.

Apart from the fact that steph can shoot over guys, garland can't

It's not about whether he can shoot over guys or not, its whether he can actually hit them at a respectable clip. Garland's release is plenty quick and his dribble package and ability to create space for a 3pt shot is definitely sufficient at the very least. The point is just whether he can actually make them in game. If he becomes respectable and hopefully he will, that will open up his driving and dishing game. But he can certainly shoot over guys.

He is much leaner now than during the season, hopefully stronger as well.

There is a lot to be optimistic about with our 3 young guards.
