Darius "Dropped Balls" Garland
I meant throughout his cold stretch when our 13 point lead vanished. He did close out the game extremely well and I hope that we will see more of that Garland in the future. But, I was speaking about completely different thing. That you dont need to be taking ten shots and missing them all in a span of around 7 minutes as a point guard. That a great point guard will realize that he can help his team in other ways, when his shot is not falling. Of course, he is still very young, with little NBA experience so I am sure he will learn from these type of situations.Like the 9 assist and a clutch steal? Then 10 straight basketI
Not really. If they both have to start then one of them has to go, eventually. They’re not suggesting trading Sexton without getting a good piece in return. Garland seems to potentially be a more versatile offensive player who can actually run an offense.Appreciate all the warm feelings and everything, but you people talking about trading Sexton are out of your fucking minds.
When Garland is on the floor with some combination of Allen, Okoro, Wade, Windler, Osman and Dotson he's out there with four guys who don't really create their own shot. How often do you see any of them get the ball and just try to beat their man individually? Sometimes Dotson if he gets matched up on a slower guy. Even Allen mostly scores on offensive rebounds, lobs, and passes off dribble penetration.I meant throughout his cold stretch when our 13 point lead vanished. that 3rd qtr was rough for both guards. they responded well later, which is progress, but the Cavs need a PG they can bring in to calm the storms and get the ball to other guys when Sexland starts getting tunnel vision like that.I meant throughout his cold stretch when our 13 point lead vanished. I don't get the Dinwiddie love. He'll be 28 next month and is in his seventh pro season, so he is what he is. His career shooting percentage is 41.0% and 30.8% on 3's - that's where Okoro is right now. Dinwiddie averages 5.0 assists per game which is OK but hardly impressive. He'll make $13.2 million next year. It's always an 'either or' with some fans when it comes to Sexland. I enjoy watching both players when they are on. Maybe the Cavs just need to find a 3rd facilitating big guard that can play with both of them which is why alot of us liked Haliburton in the last draft. Dotson does a good job playing with both. The Lonzo train has probably left the station but Dinwiddie could likely be had. Imagine having a 3 guard interchangeable lineup of Sexton, Garland, and Dinwiddie. Two of them could always be on the floor at one time. Instead of just dealing one of our guards I would hope Koby is thinking outside the box to make them work.
18-10-2-3 (17 shots, 3/8 from deep)Check out Brodric Thomas Canton Charge
If I’m hunting a new, taller, backup guard, I’m looking for a Shamet type. Can play point or 2, younger, reasonable contract. Could possibly grow with the young core. If it doesn’t work out, wouldn’t be expensive or hard to move on from.I don't get the Dinwiddie love. He'll be 28 next month and is in his seventh pro season, so he is what he is. I just don't see how he makes us better. He would replace Dotson as the third guard. Dotson is a year younger and has better shooting percentages both overall and on 3's. Dotson will make $2 million next year if the Cavaliers pick up their option.
Even if the Cavs want Dinwiddie I don't know if they have the cap space to pay the $11 million difference between his contract and Dotson's. And I don't see how they get an extra $11 million worth of value even if they are willing to pay the luxury tax to get this guy.
Actually neither of them need to be traded but one of them need to be moved to the bench. So an upgrade at either position is gravy for the CavsNot really. Do you guys know Darius Garland has played 85 professional games in his NBA career? And only 3 games in college? He's gonna have lots of ups and downs, but has a ton of good things to work with. IF Sexland needs to be broken up, the Sex should be the one to go (sorry).
Makes sense, in almost all marriage break ups, sex is the one to go.
