Let me preface this by saying I thought Collin played a fine game when considering all factors.

However, scoring 28 points on 27 FGA and 6 FTA while having more turnovers than assists is hardly something to get excited about regardless of who he has guarding him.
True, he missed 16 shots. This was not his best game by any stretch. But he played 44 out of 53 minutes and the Cavs beat a team that was 14-2 at home. He played just well enough to get the win but they could have won in regulation if his shots were falling.

It looked to me like both Sexton and Garland were very aware of Embiid and either rushed their shots or put a higher arc than normal on the shot. They combined to miss 31 shots, which is unusual. The Sixers were 5th in scoring defense so they're a tough defense to crack and it showed.

I think you are right about Embiid. They just weren't challenging him and were afraid of being swatted. Sped up their floaters

Read my first sentence, brotha

Shocking beyond belief that SexLand struggled against Embiid, Simmons and Green, who all stink at defense.

I’m not sure about Embiid or Green but Simmons was ranked as the dens best defender in the league behind LBJ during the first half of the season

I think the 2 for the Brews used the /sarcasm font.
Not at all; Philly is a terrible team, especially at home; their starting five has much less experience than ours; they don’t win close games, especially OT games; their head coach is inexperienced and they’re not particularly physical. They also have no rim protection. Given all that, the Cavaliers win was nothing to get excited about and SexLand’s poor statistical performance is just more evidence we need to get rid of them at the deadline because their ceilings and destinies are obviously written in stone at this point in their careers. Ship Okoro out as well. In fact, enough of the yoot movement; get rid of everyone under 25 because patience has run out with these kids. We need to tank anyway so we can get more kids that will disappoint the impatient.

Garland is having a solid year 2. He has clear positive improvements across the board from year 1. And he's having big games and showing big flashes of what is yet to come. As we know, years 3 and 4 are where young guards GENERALLY tend to make their "leaps". Garland shows all the classic signs of a guy who is ready to take massive leap. It may even begin late in this season...seriously...watch the last 10 or so games and if Garland starts stringing together a bunch of good games it will be a prime indicator that he's going to take that next step after another training camp and pre-season.

He's gonna take another leap..maybe multiple. He has all the tools and then some.

We certainly went into the shitter against the Pacers once he was done.

Lots of impatience this year from posters who are convinced they know a player's ceiling (I now hate that word) and think they can draw conclusions on young players who have less than four years in the association.

I'm really pumped about what we're doing and excited for the second half and the draft. We need to dump deadwood like Drummond, Cedi and Prince and play the kids.

In the first five games of the season Garland averaged 19.0 ppg and 7.2 assists, shooting 50% from the field and 51.7% on 3's. He was on a major roll.

In game six he hurt his shoulder but kept playing, finishing with 8 points. He missed the next three weeks.

His first two games back after the injury he was clearly rusty, shooting 5-for-22 from the field and 1-for-10 on 3's. Since then he's shooting 45.1% and 38.6% and averaging 16.6 ppg and 5.9 assists for a 20-game stretch that included the toughest competition of the season. In his last five games he's averaging 7.9 assists. The more games he plays with Jarrett Allen the more his assists totals increase.

I don't see him as a 50% shooter or a 19 ppg scorer, but he should be primed for a solid second half. It wouldn't surprise me if he upped his numbers a little to something like 17-18 ppg and 7-8 assists with shooting percentages of 48 and 40, especially with the toughest part of the schedule behind us.

Glad others are willing to call it quits on this guy as well. He’s shown enough of a sample size to be able to tell.
Well, Jigo, there's only so many orphaned fawns stranded on the ice floes of Lake Erie to be saved. Looks like Larry got them all for this season.
