Garland has great acceleration for blow-bys so he just needs to perfect the step-back 3 where he feints a drive with a hard jab step to get the defender to react and then step back for a quick release 3-pointer with a normal trajectory. James Harden does this all day long.

My impression of Garland, and I don't have the stats, but it looked like when he shot a step-back 3 he was leaning back as he shot and the ball always hit the front of the rim. He needs to reverse his momentum and lean into the shot. I think he'll get it.

He'll spend the off-season working on the step-back 3 off a jab step to the rim and also a quick trigger 3 off the dribble. Based on how he improved across the board from the first to the second half this year I'm expecting an even better Darius Garland than we saw in April when he put up some really nice numbers before the injury.

hope he puts in work and it pays off and I would like to see him in a faster paced offense where he can just pull up before the defense gets set before I cut ties on my optimism completely but I just can't get past how much more of a scorer he needs to be next season if they dont get a high level scorer or one that is expected to develop into one in the lottery . I think in the draft if they are looking at Suggs being available as the best player on the board anywhere from 3 and after who is an upgrade not only as a floor general which is saying something but also has a much more effective finishing ability with the level of athlete he is I am not sure why they would pick for fit and pass him over which is why I think unless they slide and Suggs is taken he is in play for sure and if he is in play the Garland trade scenario for a second lottery pick is as well.

I agree a Garland trade could be there if Suggs is our pick. Some team could decide the upside and higher floor of Garland is the better bet than whatever the best available PG is after Suggs and Cade.

Our front office needs to have quiet trade talks to see if that market actually exists. If Suggs is our guy, we can't create a situation where Garland and Rich Paul can create a bad situation for the Cavs and reduce his trade value. It needs to be a draft day trade.

That is already happening the Fedor Sexton chatter is smoke up the ass imo this front office is on the hot seat and they know Garland is the best chance they have at a 2nd lottery pick. Hell Garland himself probably secretly wants to go somewhere that has a 6'7" strictly off ball defender out there with him anyway and nothing would surprise me if Rich Paul was already pinching his arm. Vassell was their best chance to improve that spot last season if they were building around Garland but the Okoro pick has building around Sexton engraved in stone.

he needs to stop the step back fade away

Except Garland loves Sexton and looks up to him. They wear the same shoes and shoot together constantly. I think they are both pretty committed to making it work even if they are wrong.

Darius Garland does not look up to Collin Sexton. As I stated before they wore the same shoes to show solidarity as one. That look up to narrative is false, unless you have proof otherwise?

He's called him his big brother before in interviews and consistently shows admiration for his game, while crediting him for helping him develop his own. You have an issue with the way I phrased it, but I don't think the crux of the point is actually in dispute. I don't doubt their relationship has changed to one being more equal as Garland has matured, but Garland repeatedly gave him props for helping him through a tough rookie season.

I don't believe Garland wants out, and I think he would rather play next to Colin. I watch all the interviews and have no reason to believe Garland tries to mislead the media.

maybe maybe not, I am starting to think Garland just says and does all the right things kind of guy but whatever

that would be too much for you to handle being in love with Garland as you seem to be right? lol tough as nails and never gives up Sexton is the dog and Garland is the pup

I hope you are right on that for sure but I dont know anymore

Garland stated in that recent Atlantic article that he’s always wanted to play “under the bright lights of a big market” and even mentioned how if Gary, Indiana ever got a professional NBA team he’d love to go back.

He gives praise because the media/fans tries to cause division with them both. Hence them wearing the same shoes showing solidarity. I don’t understand how hard is that to grasp? I’ve watched mostly all of DG interviews and since you have too, you should’ve seen the interview of DG discussing them wearing the same shoes instead of you trying to push some weird narrative like DG looks up to Sexton because of them both wearing the same Kyries at the end of the season.

I don't think we are actually disagreeing. Do you think Garland is wants out or wants Collin traded?
