The odd thing is the Cavs could have been in a similar position this year or next year if the KPJ stuff never happened and we had more luck with health. Kevin Love's contract and declining stats are oddly similar to the situation Denver was in with Milsap. They knew they couldn't get rid of Milsap and could patient taking a guy like MPJ because Milsap was going to be on the team for the next couple years.

I'm not sure this franchise would gamble now with players with questionable pasts or health concerns.

For sure. They have been reluctant to look at injured players although maybe Darius is the exception.

We need to keep with the character guys until Koby is gone though.

So on a totally unrelated note, how do people feel about Darius's passing and vision? I understand he is more of a score first PG but does he see the floor better than say...Dame who is elite out of PnR but otherwise pedestrian as a passing guard. Or is he closer to CP3? I dont expect him to be at the Rubio see things before they happen level

He has the full range of passes you want. As long as you never want to create corner threes

Do you have an article stating that? I remember fans on this message board talking about his injuries and drop foot.

The bolded part is ridiculous. That thinking is why the Cavs shitted the bed on not drafting Embiid. The Cavs were not in position to compete, so why not take the player with the highest potential? Like I said Michael Porter Jr, Darius Garland and Tyrese Halliburton looks a lot better than what the Cavs currently have, IMO. I love the revised history too. Only person I seen pimping Sexton around draft time too was Rchfield

And exactly what happened with the guy the Cavs did draft instead? He was shipped off to Minnesota before the season even began to acquire Kevin Love. I'd be absolutely stunned if the Cavs hadn't already had preliminary negotiations with Minny about what it would take to get Love, and that whatever preference Minny expressed is something the Cavs would have taken into account.

It's not fair to criticize that draft given that we never kept the player, and probably knew we wouldn't.

Drafting Embiid could have easily turned out to be drafting Greg Oden or Sam Bowie. Cavs medical team was concerned. If we had drafted Embiid and he had chronic foot problems there would be people here screaming that the Cavaliers were idiots for drafting an injured player #1 overall.

Vacation over for these two.

Judging by the hair, I'd say it's pretty clear Collin is the one that looks up to Darius...

(*I'm kidding)
That Forehead though lol

but seriously, I wanna see garland get comfortable with the pull-up three.

He looks to pass, but he overdribbles to that end.

There's two kinds of selfish on the basketball court:
1. The guy who needs to make the shot
2. The guy who needs to get the assist

Cavs have both of them in the starting line up. I would go Garland and move Sexton while stressing fit, but you could go the other way too. I just don't think the team will go anywhere w/both. In a winning situation their skill sets look like complimentary talents vs lead role talents.

What got Garland drafted was his shooting.
But his rookie year was a wash because of injuries and no summer league. His second year was a great improvement. His shooting was better, but not yet what it was, and will be. What was exciting to me was his improved court vision and passing. That should also improve with physical development and experience. For me, the arrow is pointing way up on Garland.

I like Garland a ton. I think he's a keeper as your starting 1. I do think you need a better 2 next to him and better 4, and one of those guys needs to be #1 building block type player. I wish he wouldn't hang his head so easily and I would like him to make the available pass a little quicker rather than always looking for an assist.

If Garland shows up to camp yoked up and starts dominating like dunking on Wendel Carter and torching Kyrie KD and Harden, will you then like Sexton more?
Garland is very good at running the offense if you think dribbling a lot and finding Allen for the slam is good offense.
How anyone can honestly say they like his "game" better than Sexton is beyond me. He is really bashful in his shot attempts, does not draw enough defenders, and although it is clear he has the ability to create space, a player that won't shoot, is as useless as an injured one , I don't care how many times he gets the big a dunk.
