Liked his game tonight: almost an old man PG game. Nothing too flashy drove a few times to get some timely buckets but otherwise got the ball where it needed to be, played under control, and was passable on defense.

Yeah he held his own tonight on D much better. Very patient game from him.

This game helped me see what a baller he is. If that shot comes around like I think...

I thought Garland played well today overall and was more of a game manager. He did hit some clutch shots down the stretch and played defense enough. More important just 2 turnovers in 40 minutes- did not force much and managed the game well.

I was going to say the same thing about how he looked like a game manager. I'm hoping he has another gear or some fire lock up inside that will come out once the game slows down for him. It would suck if we drafted a game manager with the #5 pick.

I still hoping the game will slow down for him by the end of the season so he can really work on his game over the off-season.

It would suck especially badly if he is a game manager at point guard who also can't stop a stronger guard one on one in a clear out. I hope he works on his core strength more than anything. At least he doesn't make the dumb mistakes Sexton typically makes.

Way too early to make any declarative statements about where Garland will end up as a player years from now. I certainly don't see the need to stress about it the day after he played a very nice all-around game and played the entire fourth quarter and overtime of the Cavs' best win of the season. He isn't lighting up the boxscore. He still gets muscled around the basket on both ends. The jumper still isn't on-point the way it seems like it should be...

And yet, he was able to hold his own for 40 minutes on the floor against one of the best teams in the conference and made a clutch play down the stretch in OT. It is a good sign when a guy has such obvious things he needs to and likely will improve upon (strength and jumpshot making ability) and yet he can still be helpful against good teams.

I thought it was a good next step in the right direction. You do not want a game manger at the number 5 pick but it showed he had patience, did not force things by dribbling or passing which he did often this year. I do though believe DG and KPJ are a great combination together and DG will allow him to be more confident as he gets more PT. I mean he has had clutch moments.

Yes, the lack of turnovers was huge. It shows he's learning the NBA game. Earlier in the season he was consistently taking the ball into the paint and picking up his dribble without having a shot or a pass, resulting in a turnover. I'm not seeing that anymore.

He also hit two huge shots in crunch time; the floater in the lane after the pump fake with the clock expiring and the layup that Bam got called for goaltending. Very good shot selection. He ran the offense and distributed the ball, but knew when to take the shot himself and converted them.

I think he was helped on defense by not having to defend any big guards. They had him on Nunn and Dragic. Fortunately, Ben Simmons is out tonight but the Sixers still have Milton, Burks, and Korkmaz - all in the 6'5" to 6'7" range. I will be looking to see if he gets pushed around.

That revolving door D that Sexton plays has to stop ,especially after the Cavs score.
They have young players, they need to work on pressing more instead of waiting for the ball to be brought up.

I don't understand, why some of yall give Sexton hell about his defense yet give others a pass. Especially, when half the time some of the players don't rotate to the right player and Sexton has to guard their player while he leaving his man open.

It's mainly Porter and Cedi that does this but Sexton get criticized about his defense.

It's ironic, the last year LBJ was in town, people kept saying what a good defender Cedi was?

He was much better tonight. Really they all were. Sexton and Darius worked tonight. They both fought hard, but Sexton was noticeably mixing it up and made a huge effort.

Darius was poised on D and fought with Milton who was much bigger.

Just finished the replay, weird game. Heavily involved at the start then just coasted really. Sexton had the hot hand but still would be nice to see him more assertive.
