2019 FA and Offseason Mega Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In terms of going to a team to compete this is a real head scratcher. Butler must really hate playing with young players but doesn't want to be the 2nd or 3rd option on a super team.

Maybe Butler doesn't care about winning? Spent his college career in Wisconsin at Marquette. Has played for Chicago, Minnesota, Philly since entering the league. Maybe he wants long summers and a home in Miami where the weather is beautiful in the winter as long as the hurricanes don't hit.

So, the way it's worded with Butler intending to tell the Heat he wants to go there... is that because they really can't make an offer to him at this time? Some cap work needs to be done before they can offer anything for him to commit to, right?

I feel like him not caring about winning would be a big change from how he has acted all season and most of his career.

Maybe this is a bigger move by the Heat and he has someone else joining him. Butler and Kawhi to the clippers would have been fun to watch.

No would have to be a sign and trade to Philly. They would need to figure out a trade where they get Butler, Sixers apparently like Josh Richardson, then the third team would likely eat one or two of the Heat garbage contracts and get youth/picks. Or something along those lines.

The more I look at the Heat's salaries the more I think this is a bluff from Butler to get the Sixers to give him a 5th year on his contract. They are full of bad contracts and no young players. Miami doesn't have any good assets either. The sixers would be better off just not doing a sign and trade. They could get better players on one year contracts on the open market.

I feel like Rozier might have better options than to go to Charlotte.

Knicks? Not really a market for Rozier. Maybe the Suns. But is their a difference between Knicks, Suns and Hornets? In Charlotte Rozier would get all the shots he wants. With D'Angelo Russell focusing on Wolves, Pacers signing Rubio, Lakers, Clippers and other teams that may want a PG focusing on Beverley right now. Rozier doesn't really have a prime landing spot. So why not take the Hornets and stat pad for a year or two (Rumors are he wants a short term deal) and get back on the market in a year or two?
