2019 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just think it's silly that we have people looking 4-5 years down the line complaining that we don't have these guys locked up for longer.

Who was complaining? I sure as hell wasn't yet you jumped all over my post. All i said was that our lower farm system is looking really stacked for when players like Lindor and Jose won't be here anymore. It wasn't said with a negative attitude but more being excited about the future with all the young guys developing. How is it so hard for you to understand what i said?

A lot of these young guys have ETAs of 2022 or 2023 and the teams future is looking pretty decent even if Lindor and Jose aren't here anymore. If Jose keeps producing until his contract is up some team will offer him a pretty high dollar contract since he'll only be 30. If they resign him great but it's pretty given that our star hitters only stick around for so long and i've accepted that.

Evidently it's a crime around here to be excited about our stacked lower levels in the farm system. Seems like the diehards are the ones with the negative attitudes around here.

If that's truly what you meant, then I apologize. Still, it seems silly to discount the possibility of re-signing Jose when he's already re-signed once and his contract isn't up for quite a while.

It is what i meant but you're good. I would expect him to want to cash in though considering his next contract is likely his last big one.

Brady Aiken is toast.

I hope he pulls it together or finds something that clicks, but he did not look like a professional pitcher today at all, and his statline reflects that.

A huge what could have been.

What level is he even at right now? I can't find anything recent on that dude - he's like off the grid.

This years Lake County team is easily the most talented group that’s ever played there. I can not recommend it enough that if you want to go to a minors game this year, go to one of theirs.

However long Oviedo and Burgos end up staying there, they’re going to win a shit ton of games.

Burgos looked exactly like Oviedo just from the left hand side. Sat 92-95, good slider, meh change. Great command and understanding of how to pitch, which is a reoccurring theme with most highly touted pitching prospects in the Indians farm right now. He too has room to grow into his frame as well. Hope his health holds up, cause he’s good.

My 4th time seeing Bo Naylor play in person and every time I see him I come away more and more hyped. He makes hitting look easy, which you shouldn’t be doing at 19 playing full season ball.

As I mentioned above, Aiken looks toasted. Sat mid to high 80s, was all over the place, and just didn’t look like a professional pitcher. Considering he spent most of last year not pitching in order to clean things up post Tommy John to try to trigger something, not a good start. Hope he finds something.

Gotta give Aiken this season to see if he can straighten things out, but if he doesn’t start getting command and/or velocity back this season, he probably is done.

I said awhile ago Lake County looks like it’s going to be good and it’s going to stay good talent wise since all the young guys here soon will end up there. I was saying up to 15 of our top 30 prospects will end up at Lake county between this year and next year at the same time.

It’s more than 2 seasons of control. It’s why this is ridiculous. And when I was debating whether to get a Lindor jersey, realized we still have him for 3 years. Just ridiculous

It’s not this offseason. It’s inevitable that he’s leaving, it’s vital to the organization to maximize his value in a trade.
Again, and pursuant to my previous post, a team might be willing to give up the farm for him, so you have to listen.

Agreed. But at two years you have to start planning.

Lets talk about it in 2 to 3 years and in the right thread then.

Anyways. Sticking at my homebase and looking at the Clippers for the next 5 games.

Should get a good look at Cargo and Kip I would have to imagine.

I think we are sleeping on Kip, he would add a huge pop to our lineup right now, he had the bad first half, and even if he isn't back to his top form, he would be way better than the trash we are trotting out there right now.

Somehow, that's what the Indians have become in this town. The casual fan's attitude towards them is 100% negative.

100%. This shit is getting ridiculous with people fixating on contract situations three or four seasons removed from now. It's professional sports. Nothing lasts forever and circumstances change by the minute. To quote Cleveland's persona non grata, "Enjoy it."

Indians FO and scouting department have done a great job finding players, I mean heck Jose wasn’t even a top international player. The scout who found him went to a game to scout another player and Jose was actually just a sub for the game. They have invested a lot of time and money into their scouting department and the fact we can say we will have a good team even without Lindor is great.

We all want Lindor and Jose as Indians for their entire careers and I get why people don’t like it we cannot, but still we gotta look at the fact, we will be in the playoff for likely 4 straight years and next year we will still be the favorite with this roster as well (if anything the division will be better but so will we).

It so feels like these “negative” Indians fans don’t like the fact we have an ounce less of talent than the main guys and Lindor hasn’t been extended, but aren’t looking at the fact, we have the best rotation in baseball and likely in the modern era. We have 2 MVP candidates and what 4-5 all-star/former all-star position players. The best team doesn’t always win since we have been the underdogs before in 16, and we almost got it all! Stay positive peeps!
