2019 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
"Grinder"

Zero chance he breaks camp with the club.

He has put himself on the radar this season though. Francona isn't afraid to take the best 25 out of camp including a AA player. I don't think he will go out of camp with the team, but something says he is working his way onto the team sooner rather than later.

When has he ever proven that he’ll take the best 25?

Tito has never played rookies quickly, almost ever.

Naquin got the spot even though he wasn't proven in the minors

Clement gives me DJ LeMahieu vibes. Can't hit for a lick of power, but can just flat out hit.

Curious to see if they begin to move him all over the field just to see what he can and can't handle at certain positions.

I saw Sam Hentges on Satuday. Makes zero sense how he throws low 90s.

He won't when he is a full time reliever, which I believe he will be after this season.

Also keep in mind that he is only a year and a half removed from Tommy John, and prior to TJ he predominantly sat high 80s with his fastball.

Have no doubt his stuff will play up when he is a 1 inning pitcher. But right now they are still extending him out to be a starter.

Am I wrong for saying I was afraid of the injury bug with him since he looks like he needs to put on a little more muscle weight on his body? Just speaking from personal history, I had an injury because I was way under weight and training way to much for my body to handle. I just feel with him, hes gotta strengthen his body/fill it out the correct way a little more otherwise the rigors of the season will get to him.

Has anyone seen or heard anything about Benson or Aiken this spring yet?

Something has to give from an organization standpoint when it comes to the OF and the logjam they now have at the MLB and AAA level

Let's hypothetically say this is what the Indians carry onto the opening day roster for the OF: Bauers/Luplow - Martin - CarGo/Thompson

That means Greg Allen, Naquin, and Oscar Mercado would start in Columbus. Barnes and Papi are there as well, not that they have a real factor in the Indians future, but they are there for now. Daniel Johnson is knocking on the AAA door. Zimmer is working his way back.

Indians have released 21 minor leaguers already, and supposedly there is going to be at least one more ~5+ player dump coming up. That’s significantly more than they’ve released since the turn of the century.

What does that mean? We’re about to see some real young kids get accelerated through the lower levels in the next couple of years.

I don't see news of it anywhere but apparently Cameron Maybin is on the Clippers roster
