@AZ_ @Derek @BimboColesHair I have some question for ya guys like usual. Just curious what ya think!
AAA
Both Johnson and Chang have been on a hot streak of late. If we do not acquire another bat at the trade deadline, I could easily see a swap of Bradley and Johnson at the pro level. It will be hard to keep Johnson in the minors with the way he is playing! Doesn't mean he will succeed the first time, but next season, he really may earn himself a starting nod at the big club!
What do you guys think of the trio of Kaminsky, Tully and Hill at AAA? I know all three are fringe guys right now, but do you see any upside in the pros as bullpen arm, or will they just end up AAA/AAAA type of pitchers? Kaminsky was considered a solid prospect at one point but lost that due to injuries. Hill's cards didn't play for him well in the last season/start of this season, but numbers this year says he looks solid in the limit time he pitched (13 innings, no runs). Just hard to get any info on a 17th round pick.
Ka'ai Tom also has been keeping the hot bat from AA to AAA. We will see in the off season what the Indians/scouts really think of him (Rule 5 eligible if not added to the 40 man). I know he was on the Indians top 30 prospects a few years ago, so they liked him at one point. Does anyone know if he made a change to his swing, since his numbers are not the same this year at all. This feels like it has to be more than just him doing the same old, same old.
Newly acquired Maton, hasn't pitched yet for the AAA roster, so could anyone introduce us to the new guy? Doesn't have a good MLB record yet, but his AAA stats look solid.
AA
Clement is another bat that is doing well in the minor leagues. After a slow start, he has been hitting consistently over .300 at AA. Morgan looks like last season with some growing pains, moving up a level, but still is pitching well overall. Scott, pitched a dud in his last outing, but overall hasn't been bad. Cleveland's newly acquired Stephens, looks like he will be a reliever here, rather than a starter unlike in the White Soxs system. Hasn't been bad, but hasn't been great either, by the numbers. Broom is pitching well still at AA, while Nelson's last few outings haven't been as good. Both guys though are likely AAA relievers/could join the big club next season.
A+
Freeman and Oscar Gonzalez are both still hitting the ball well at Lynchburg. Benson on the other hand is struggling with Mendoza. His repeat of A+ will be his make or break I feel honestly.
Hillman hasn't been good of late, he is really the only pitcher of note left at Lynchburg. Any other pitcher at lynchburg worth noting?
