2019 MLB Postseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Going to be insane pitching matchups in the WS, not sure how they'll be lining up but the top 3 for either should make this interesting.
Astros would use Grienke in Gm 3 (back in the NL). That way Hinch can make a choice for gm 4 & if bullpen/ Brad P/ Wade Miley, he gets to go Cole/ Verlander & Grienke for 5-6-7

Both Osuna and Chapman getting rocked that inning was poetic to watch. What I would give to see the Tribe finally walk off against Chapman in the postseason... Anyways, this World Series should be a dandy. The pitching matchups are incredible:

Game 1: Cole vs. Scherzer
Game 2: Verlander vs. Strasburg
Game 3: Greinke vs. Corbin

I mean, its unfair. Altuve is literally one of the best players in baseball. And he might not be the best on his team. That's how good this Stros team is.

If they win it all, they rival the '27 Yankees as one of the best teams ever. If not the best.

I know people get caught up in the myth of Ruth and Gehrig. But the Stros only got 5 superstars and paired with two of the best pitchers in baseball.
I mean, Bregman is definitely their best player. He has been the last two years and it hasn't been particularly close. He's pushing Trout for the best player in baseball.

What's really crazy is that Altuve might not even be a top 5 hitter on that team anymore! He was 5th in fWAR this year with Gurriel and Correa right behind him with Correa only playing 75 games this year.

As far as your '27 Yankees comp. It would ruffle some feathers (who cares), but I'd absolutely consider them better. Their hitters are equal and the Astros have a sizable pitching advantage.

I don’t care about the 1927 Yankees because it’s nothing but names and the game is different by a wide margin...

Going back to 20 years ago and matching this Astros team up with a team like the ‘99 Yankees I’d like to see...

Obviously ‘98 was the best of the era but I’d like to see them vs a team that features Clemens.

Clemens was mediocre in '99 though, and the lineup isn't even close to as good as the Astros

That’s fine... I don’t need him at his best with the Yankees... I would just rather have him on the mound as opposed to a David Wells like in 98...

I could easily see that era Yankees beat this version of the Astros.... Hell the damn Rays almost got them 2 weeks ago...

This Astros team is definitely one of the best I’ve ever seen — I just personally don’t believe they beat the Yankees era of 20 years ago....

Anybody can beat anybody in baseball! That's the beauty of it!

But the '99 Yanks just don't measure up to the current Astros. This year's Yankees were better than the '99 version.

'99 Yankees:
111 wRC+
193 HR
25.9 WAR by position players
4.35 FIP
21.2 WAR by pitchers

'19 Astros:
125 wRC+
288 HR
40.8 WAR by position players
3.98 FIP
23.7 WAR by pitchers

This year the Astros have been the most productive team of all time.

I'd rather see the match up with the '98 Yanks. Cone was awesome that year. If you really want Clemens, the '03 team that lost in the WS was better.

The Astros is the best team we've seen. What's scary is they're not even playing on all cylinders, but went on to beat two very good teams.

They're going against top competition and still pulling out. It's going to be tough to beat them in a series.

Yeah, this Yankees team was actually a great team. Maybe any other year, if there's no Astros, they're in the World Series. And maybe win it all even.

They ran into a historic team. Kinda like the 95 Indians ran into a historic all-time great pitching staff.

Sometimes its just bad luck.

Being great, when there's a historically great team in your way.

The pitch he hit out was a slider on the outer half of the plate.

The probability of someone pulling that pitch into a HR to left center has to be astronomical.

Is anybody giving the Nationals any chance? All the news outlets are already crowning Houston.

Or how the Cavaliers had to play the greatest team of all time in the Finals four straight seasons.

Sometimes you just get dicked over.
