2019 MLB Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
IMO this is our last year we can go for it. Bauer and Kluber are mostly likely on their last year. Who knows what happens with cookie if he can ever stay healthy. Once those guys are all back we make our final stand. If we can pull off another jay bruce/Donaldson move do it. Blow it up in the offseason if things don’t work out. Our young guys are good enough that we won’t bottom out completely.

I don't mean this in a cruel way, but do you follow baseball at all?

The only player on our roster that we don't have locked up for next year is Tyler Clippard.

I'm trading Bauer and that's it. Mainly because our starting pitching pipeline dictates that.

Look for a Chris Archer or slightly less type of deal. There will be a huge market for Bauer, he will be the best SP with ace potential available. Sell high on a strictly business move backed up by having depth behind him.

Can you at least attempt to add something to this section instead of your useless one-liners that you hit and run with in here? You've been here for over a decade dude, and all you do is troll and spam this board with the same two or three things all season long; you should know better. If you're not an Indians fan, which I highly doubt you are, then fine, but there's no need to keep posting your senseless drivel with absolutely nothing backing it up all the time. It's fucking annoying, dude.

I just seriously know he is a troll that tries to be a comedian and is not. So I just ignore his comments lol

I'm still asking him what the chances are of him signing a long-term deal here.

Even if he laughs in your face, it might help to make sure he feels valued--not slighted if we trade him.

I think Bauer might do more for our pitching staff than Carl Willis.

Even if he changed his mind and was open to a 5-6 year deal, could we afford him?

He'll be about 30 when he hits UFA. Sale and Corbin are at that age and just got 5/$145m and 6/$140m, respectively

That's a lot of money for the Indians

I’m not suggesting the guys I mentioned are on their last year of their deals I’m saying they may be on their last year here or as productive players.

Whit Merrifield is on such a cheap deal until 2023 that it's going to be next to impossible for the Indians to get him. It has to be the most team friendly contract in baseball now that Jose isn't Jose.

I wanted him last season and the price is super high right now on him, to the point the Indians aren't willing to pay that much, but I wish we could since he would be one of the best guys for this lineup honestly!

Seriously how is this the last season they can go for it? We have control of the roster outside of like Clippard and we have a ton of young bullpen arms coming up by next summer. We should have one dominant bullpen and pitching staff in general next season. I mean on paper with everyone back healthy, we are bringing back a top starting rotation and a top bullpen right now (even without a legit setup guy) and adding in the young talent that's between AAA and AA right now into that bullpen mix.

Also the young bats are starting to mature (look at the young guys numbers as of late, Bauers, Luplow, Mercado etc). I mean we are one of the top ball clubs in HRs in the month of June (I believe 2nd) and we were dead last in the first month. Also we are what 16-7 in the month of june and back into the wild card race. I don't think we are out of it at all, we just need another legit bat and maybe a legit setup man. Even so next season we are a team to beat especially when we have the same roster and more experience with our young hitters who should be improved as well.

Indians will not deal Bauer unless the fall out of it. Not with Carrassco and Kluber in flux throughout the remainder of the year.

This team is buying until I'm told otherwise.

Do you think we could move Bauer and still buy as well? Move like Bauer for prospects and move prospects for like Mancini and since Bauer is worth more, we may be able to plus a few prospects while making the lineup better.

I still feel we will try to make a trade like we did for Mercado to have more AAA/MLB ready prospects.

Well, we have team control over Bauer next year.

Corey Kluber was third in the Cy Young last year, and won the damn award the year before. Now you want to insinuate that at age 33, this is the last year he can be productive?

Even if you eliminate both Kluber and Bauer from the roster, that means you'd have Clevinger, Cookie, Bieber, Plesac, and then McKenzie/Civale/Jefry/Plutko all ready to go as your fifth starter. Then you can add the Kipnis money that comes off the books, the Kluber/Bauer money that you just traded off the books, as well as the massive haul of talent you got for 2 Cy Young caliber pitchers under team control.

See the light yet?

No.

Predicting that everyone is on their last year or will decline is...

Well, it’s an easy out for saying “I called it” when someone struggles next year.

Guys like Max Scherzer (35), Justin Verlander (36), Charlie Morton (35), Cole Hamels (35), and Zack Greinke (35) are all still proving to be borderline Cy Young contenders/front of the rotation guys, and all of them have at least a year or two on Kluber.

Calling Kluber done because he had a few bad starts at the beginning of the year when he's always been a historically slow starter and then getting hit in the arm by a line drive is interesting to say the least.
