2019 Mock Drafts

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There is now a Kyler Murray thread in Around the NFL. People want to talk about him, that's great... but I do agree he has been a focal point of two major draft threads and we all know the Browns aren't going to draft him.

He actually may favor the Browns by going into the draft especially if a team looks to get him in the top 15, which some people have speculated.

I am actually okay this season for the top QBs going very high in this draft, just means better talent will fall to us!

Why not draft him, he would probably make a better slot receiver than qb anyways, lol

(yes I know, wrong thread, but it was a joke)

Next on the Herd: Why the Browns should trade Baker Mayfield and draft Kyler Murray

Daniel Jeremiah is the crown prince of just throwing darts wildly every other day, but somebody has to be feeding him a little info here or there.

#17 - Browns select Andre Dillard, LT, Washington State

"I believe Dillard is the top left tackle prospect in the draft and his pass-protecting prowess is just what Baker Mayfield needs."

Still on the board: Jonah Williams, DeAndre Baker, Christian Wilkins, and some midget QB from Oklahoma.

Dillard is a strong off-season away from being worth that.

I haven't seen enough yet, but he's absolutely a guy who could rise. It's tough to really get a serious gauge based on the offense he plays in.

His kick step needs work, his footwork in general appears to need work. He does recognize stunts well and picks them up with ease. Big dude, pretty good athlete.

Would you take him in the third to backup Baker?

That’s a bit early imo. You can still out the roster with depth and gamble on high risk prospects there

No. He's not the kind of guy you draft and stash/ride the pine.

But as @sportscoach asked...is there someone else who.might be interesting as a developmental guy? And is Tyrod staying? The market for him probably won't be very strong.

If the Browns move on from Tyrod, I'd prefer to keep Stanton and sign Fitzpatrick at backup salary. He made 3.3 million last year, which was Stanton level salary. The same three people in the quarterback room wouldn't be bad, but weaving in somebody who knows what Monken wants to accomplish could be even better. Then draft a backup in 2020.

Isn’t there a Tyrod Taylor thread for this?

My only excitement surrounding the 2019 quarterback class is the opportunity for a few of these guys like Murray, Daniel Jones, and Drew Lock to entice teams with top 15 picks into overdrafting them. The Giants, Jaguars, Broncos, Dolphins and Redskins all need a starting quarterback. Let the hype train begin... but Browns fans finally get to sit it all out.
