2019 NBA Playoffs Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So frustrating that the Pacers blew that lead. If they had Oladipo they would win this series. And if we hadn’t fucking GIFTED Kyrie to the Celtics, they would suck. Say what you want about Kyrie, he is clutch

Just think that they won't be winning a chip and Kyries most likely gone for nothing this summer. Makes me feel that much better.

Bucks are going to cruise to the finals. Celtics can’t try this whole “score less than 100 and win” thing when the other team has Giannis instead of Thad Young. If the Warriors can get past Houston that will be a fun series. Can’t see KD stopping Giannis and Middleton/Bledsoe should give Curry and Klay a lot of trouble. Shame all the top East teams look like frauds outside of Milwaukee.

If the Bucks beat the Warriors, that would be a great upset. Not really because of the Bucks talent, but more so having zero Finals experience versus a team that has a ton. But one star versus four is also a tough ask.

Teams with good defensive scheming and adjusting are going to make it very hard on Giannis. They will probably exploit his jumper and double him all game.

Oh yeah I don’t think they’d beat the warriors, I just think it’d be a really fun series. No one over the past year or so has shown the ability to stop Giannis consistently and the loss of Boogie means one less star the Bucks have to account for. Warriors still probably win in 6 or less but it’s a series I’d definitely enjoy watching.

I love basketball I do but this might be my las game in a while the wa the refs give a fucking stacked team lik GSW calls.

Wish the cavs could pirate some of the spurs' scouting and player development staff..

“Kyrie is a strange dude,” Windhorst said. “They (Celtics) win Game 1. He played okay. He kind of took over in the second half. He runs over to his family after winning Game 1 in the same vein Tiger (Woods) ran over to his family after winning The Masters. He’s celebrating with his dad. I’m all for it.”

“He won The Finals (in 2016 with the Cavs) and he was angry. He seriously won The Finals, his father and sister came out to hug him and he was angry. He was mad, in that moment. And then, when he got to the locker room, while his teammates were celebrating, he FaceTimed Kobe (Bryant).”

Anybody else think Windhorst if full of s***? I saw a man who was just as shocked and elated as the rest of his teammates. How Kyrie internalized that accomplishment and the subsequent actions after 2016 shouldn't create a new narrative that wasn't. I've never been a fan of Windhorst's tabloid journalism and this is more of the same.

The Warriors have serious internal problems they will have to work through (KD has been openly rebelling and disagreeing with everything Kerr says all season) but if they put that aside they're still the slight favorites (The Rockets have me reconsidering that with their destruction of Utah...Donovan Mitchell is struggling mightily). I can't confidently state who will come out of the east (Boston has the talent but hampered by chemistry issues, Philly stars haven't gelled and Brown is a weak coach, Raptors have unpredictable Lowry but playoff Kawhi is something else and Bucks have the best player this year, shooting, chemistry and best coach but in terms of talent they might be last out of the four). It's sad that playoff viewing numbers are down 30% because this is the kind of parity people were wishing for the last 5 years. KD made the league less interesting but they're not a lock this season by any stretch.

Damn it I want Johnathan Isaac to be good so badly but he just can not shoot consistently. He’s tall, athletic, pretty good on D. If he could shoot the raptors would lose this series.

So funny to see Toronto struggling with Orlando, even now that they have Kawhi Leonard. No wonder Lebron blew them the fuck out all the time.

Kawhi played one of the worst games of basketball I’ve seen in a while

Kawhi has a ton of talent but in Popovich he also had a coach who knew exactly how to maximize that talent against any scheme. He doesn't have that any more.

San Antonio to play with Popovich was one of the places I would have forgiven Lebron for going to, just for pure basketball reasons.

Joe Harris has turned into Kyle Korver in the playoffs. He's missed some key open 3pt'ers that could have blown the game open.

What a pleasure it is to watch the Spurs play team basketball. Have loved their approach for years.
