2019 NFL Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is wild

I almost misread as the other Fitzpatrick on them.

-18.5 dogs this weekend against the Pats...at home, where they pretty often give NE their one annual AFCE loss. Not sure if I've ever seen a bigger home underdog.

Good to see 'chlocaine' has his back.

Can we just go back to the good ole days with Brown when he would punt kickers in the crotch and cut his hair like a Lego man?

Interesting that the team was, uh, "generally unaware" of the civil suit going in, and that the two parties had been trying to settle for a few months; the specific information was just leaked recently.

They were also "generally unaware" of Matt Patricia's skeleton-in-the-closet during his time there, even though both legal matters are searchable as public record, if a little difficult to find easily.

Edit: Looks like he's officially Mr. Big Non-Exempt, at least for now. Of course, the "exceptional circumstances " clause for Roger's exempt list is extremely generalized...

Ravens offense look good.

Brady to AB is insane.

Phins is idk.

SaQuon killed the bills on their first drive.

Colts up 7-0 on Titans to start, carried by a 46-yard PI.

I can live with the L last week if the Titans end up being a 10-6, 11-5 type team.

They are looking like the same dark-ages offense that that were last year, though, despite it looking like last week they had turned the corner with Mariota on a contract-year roll.

What spirit did Jackson morph himself into.

Totally random thought, but I find it odd that the biggest knock many critics have on Brady is that he’s a system QB and that he wouldn’t be as good without a system. While a system certainly helps, I didn’t see Bledsoe winning rings in the same system.

By that same token, isn’t Michael Jordan the product of a system? Sure, he was great prior to the triangle, but without Scottie, Phil, and the triangle I can’t imagine he becomes the GOAT. That makes Kobe a system player, too. Duncan as well.

Brady may or may not be the goat, but it’s at least debatable. He took Randy Moss who was on his way out the league and put up one of the greatest seasons ever for a WR.

If guys can stay healthy and not get suspended this will be the first year he’s had a legitimately stacked WR core with AB, Gordon, and Edelman. Probably a tall task to keep them all on the field, but talented nonetheless.

I don't like the Pats, but anyone that believe he's this great because of the system, is nuts.

He's about to break the all-time touch downs record. You don't do that from being a system QB, playing under numerous different coordinators, and winning SBs with different teams.

The Pats have been this great because of two large reasons. Belichick and Brady. They both benefit from each other.

Brown really looks like he's hurting the Pats. This is why I HATED when he got released, and went there. Did anyone really believe he'd not help them? Brady now has a legit threat since Moss.

I hope he starts misbehaving, because Brown on the Pats is going to make them unstoppable.

I’m still pumping the breaks on Lamar Jackson. Ravens are opening up the season against the two worst teams in the NFL

Nah. The stuff they're getting off right now would work against any opponent. They have two dynamic TE's, fast WR's, and a really good RBC in the backfield. Add Lamar's skillset to that and you have a team that is very hard to game plan against. They can attack you multiple ways. I didn't even mention their defense yet which is always one of the best in the league. They are legit.
