2019 NFL Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Fuck me, should have gone for it on 4th.
Strong draft hand + cap space, Seahawks will be back.

Malik Turner worse hands than Cedi.

True, but lets also remember that the Seahawks weren't picked to do this well the past two years.

They should have been rebuilding. They were coming off a wholesale purge of the former Legion of Boom.

That only shows how fucking great Russell is, and the difference a good DC makes.
Seahawks don’t have a good DC

Man, I want the Chiefs to make the Super Bowl so bad. Just to be a part of the spectacle and to know what it's like to watch it with a personal interest. I can't even fathom winning it.

That being said, 49ers are the favorite/best team left right? They look tough.

I would assume the Chiefs are the heavy favorite right now.

If Mahomes wins the Super Bowl. His career will easily be on pace surpassing Rodgers. Rodgers doesn’t have this raw of talent. Not a single thing Rodgers does better.

Just Mahomes’ sample size is too small. He just has longevity and experience on him.

Some people say the Texans are trash so what we did isn't that impressive. I mean, I think it is impressive. But we are playing weaker opponents.

I will say the Titans are nothing to sleep on. They have proven to beat two top teams already. They have beat us once already this year. Their play style is opposite of Chiefs and the type that theoretically matches up perfect. Eat up the clock with the run and slow it down so we don't touch the ball much.

I like the fact we are at home obviously. I think the main way the Titans beat us is if they limit us to no big plays or only a couple. Because if we shake loose like that, they will not have a chance to out gunsling Mahomes.

I have not watched a ton of the Packers and 49ers. I know that Rodgers is one of the few that can go toe to toe with Mahomes in a shootout. And I know the 49ers defense is insane. I think we have the most offensive potential, but the question is how we do against the most elite defense. Or will our defense be good enough to get the job done. I just wish the Chiefs had a more elite running back and I'd be very confident. Which our rb is good enough, but one more dynamic I think makes us the favorite if we want to bank on our offense all the way. Too bad what happened with Kareem Hunt. But the matchups are interesting for sure.

I checked the odds. The Chiefs are the favorites.

The Titans do not match up well with the Chiefs, at all. The Titans match up with teams who are run heavy without explosive playmakers. That's the antithesis of KC. If I were a betting man, I'd be all over that 7.5 point spread.

And honestly, it's cool that Tennessee made it this far, but they're one of the worse teams I've seen in a Championship game in recent memory.

The Niners are built around their defensive line. It might get the job done against Rodgers, who while improved this year, still does Rodgers things like hold the ball too long. I don't think either team matches up well with the Chiefs.

You and other Chiefs fans should be very optimistic.

I appreciate that perspective. I'm just trying to be cautiously optimistic. It just feels like anything can happen in these playoffs. And also that invisible or imagined hurdle of being a franchise that doesn't win or hasn't won for a long time. Like once you win, that pressure might come off. As we see how some teams start to open up that door after they get the first one out of the way.

Like I don't know how the Chiefs choked so hard to start that game. It wasn't Mahomes fault, but it's a team game. He can't catch the balls for them too. We started so bad I'm still a bit shocked we won. So I'm glad it turned into a feel good win. That might give us way more energy. If we scraped by and it turned into a mad at ourselves type thing, we might not have the confidence going forward. But execution is still most important. Texans could have had us if they made some better coaching decisions. But against an explosive offense, you have zero room for error.

I will never doubt Mahomes. I just cringe when he is doing everything to make plays and other players on our team aren't holding their weight. They have to make the easy catches and not give the ball up.

Tannehill is playing out of his mind, hence why I think the Titans are not your typical 6th seed. Remember, they rolled with Marriott, and he just sucks.

Not saying they are a great team. But their defense is hot. They have a back that wears defenses down. They got explosion on the outside. I don’t think it’s a great matchup for KC. They struggle against the run and the Titans can keep Mahomes off the field.

I think KC wins, but not that confident like the Texans match. Texans had no advantage at all. And were less talented and have a shitty coaching staff.

Titans have a great coaching staff and some mismatches to give KC issues.

Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised to see Henry go for 200 yards again. If the Titans can hold the ball and execute in the red zone, it will be tough. But similar, I think there is about zero room for error. They can't let the Chiefs offense shake loose. I thought I heard Tannehill has thrown for like 160 yards over two games. I don't think that is going to cut it. The run game will still be their bread and butter, but to win, Tannehill is going to need to surprise more with the passing game. He will likely need 200 passing yards. Playing into the pass more likely plays into the Chiefs hands, but like I said, they need to surprise at the right times and get some big pass plays.

Their chance is limiting the amount of touches Mahomes gets. Maybe generating at least one turnover. I like KC though. I just think Houston was/is trash - and not a game to overreact to.

It’s a mystery how they won the division. Because Houston was not good. Their PF to PA ratio was a negative. Worse of any team that made the playoffs. Tennessee is a better team than Houston. Watson basically is it. Even Watt isn’t the same. That was easy for the Chiefs.
