2019 RCF NFL Mock Draft - Commentary

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think Kupp was more adept with being a quality WR and, more important, he produced like it in college. I understand Ridley was hampered by the UGA staff and playcalling, but...come on, you cannot be that poor producing and still get drafted that high. And even then, Kupp was drafted in the 3rd round and Ridley isn't even close to him athletically. Kupp had a slow 40, but he is very, very quick. Ridley...just sucks as an athlete.

Their vertical and broad jump are similar, Kupp has him by good margain on 20 yard shuttle. Watching Ridley run routes as I prepared for the mock draft, my comp was Kupp. They both have great release techniques and vary the speed of their routes to gain separation. They both have quite a highlight reel of circus catches due to body control. In short, they are legitimate #2 receivers if you have a freak on the other side.

If anyone's feeling too lazy to make their pick this round..

Chiefs are offering up their 2021 3rd rounder to get back into this draft.

Offer expires if our guy goes off the board.

Upcoming picks:
121. Detroit - @MGMT
122. Pittsburgh - @sportscoach
123. Baltimore - @Rookie
124. Seattle - @King Stannis

Which one of y'all's feeling frisky?

I had four days off and my pick comes in the middle of my double days, so sorry for the late pick, but I was exhausted last night!

Are we done with the draft after this round?

Here is the Browns' draft haul, feel free to kill me on it:

Round 2 Pick 49 - Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, S, Florida*
Round 3 Pick 80 - Oshane Ximines, DE, Old Dominion
Round 4 Pick 117 - David Long, LB, West Virginia**
Round 4 Pick 119 - Mark Fields, CB, Clemson

*Selected before the Murray trade & Burnett signing
**Pick acquired, along with RB Ito Smith, for Duke Johnson

I did want to get an OT, but I never felt there was one worth taking during my picks.

I'd be curious to hear some thoughts. I didn't get to dive in as much as I would have liked due to work being pretty busy.

And with that, I am done.

Jesus, that last round was rough. I have not scouted that deeply so the round 4 picks was completely pulled out of my ass.

I really like CGJ, so great there.

Not a huge fan of Ximines. I would have preferred Maxx Crosby later.

I know Long was SUPER productive at WVU, but his athletic testing that we know about isn't that great.

Mark Fields is okay, not a huge fan of his production and we don't know much about his athletic testing.

I'd have to look back, but this draft is fine. CGJ is the only future starter I see. The 4th rounders are not really that big of a deal for me, they will be, probably at best, special teamers.

You are damn right! Last year most of the guys were asking to draft into the fifth. This year I don't see the interest level. I guess that's what happens when the NFL Draft isn't the Browns Super Bowl of the year.

Was looking at Love and Hill and they both got snatched right before my pick.

Ximines doesn't make sense to me at all for Cleveland.

The rest I'd be pretty fine with. Like David Long for his toughness but he struggles in coverage.

Mark Fields would be a great slot corner for this club.

Same here, but I started pulling stuff out around round 1

Your best moments were CGJ and the Duke Johnson trade - great value there.

Ximines is definitely a high ceiling and low floor pass rushing specialist. I read that he had a terrible diet in college - mostly Taco Bell - and that is why he dropped down to 240 for the Senior Bowl. I'm thinking he is a gamble and might be better off as a 3/4 pass rusher. I would have looked to a corner like David Long of Michigan, Lonny Johnson of Kentucky, or Kaleb McGary as a developmental OT.

David Long the linebacker can be debated. I think Tranquill is the sneaky better LB because he is an elite nickel linebacker instead of base defense LB. It's not a bad pick though. I didn't know much about him and your post helped me realized he has some game.

I like Jimmy MF'in Moreland or Maxx Crosby more than Mark Fields. I dig a small school player who plays like Superman at that point because my ass isn't on the line for a gamble.

Browns represented very, very well this year. No shame.

I just kept getting my picks up in the middle of my double days and none on my days off! Though with the fact the Browns don't have the draft assets like they have in the years past it does change the interest level in the draft on here! Still is fun to do since it does tell us a lot about the guys we could see in the draft.
