2019 Series #11 | Indians vs. Mariners | May 3rd, 4th, and 5th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Fewer than 2 full pages for two Tribe wins. Now we're at 5 pages.

Edit: this was the first post of page 6 for me.

I think I'm done going to games. Was at the game Clev threw his back out and was there today for the wet shit the pitchers left on the mound. I'm sorry guys.

This organization doesn't always make the right moves, then again you can say that about every team. Cody Anderson pitching another big league game will be a slap in the face to someone that's more deserving, fuck Cody.

Well he might have messed up his last chance. He may get one or two more shots this season, but honestly this really hurt his MLB career chances in general. I don't expect him to be completely thrown out to the curb, but his leash is super short and likely puts him back in the minors for the rest of the season, if he messes up one more outing.

Do you guys recall Anderson ever pitching 95-96?

I know it was a bad outing, but from the outset from watching him, his fastball was consistently like 96 and I think he hit 97 a couple times. It really felt like, he was over throwing every single pitch he threw out there today, which means he couldn't locate his off speed and flattened out his fastball. You can throw harder, but since he did, he lost all the control he had in general. AM I wrong for saying he actually was over hyped and cause of it, he pitched extremely poorly?

He averaged just over 95 on his fastball yesterday, and he averaged 94 the last year he was in the majors, which was 2016. The velocity is not new. He's always been able to throw hard, he's just not very good.

Same Anderson, ball was consistently middle in.

Same velo, same movement. Not good enough to play at this level.

Can throw 95-96 all you want but with no command you’re going to get shit on.

It really did feel like to me, almost every pitch he was over throwing. I don't recall him ever hitting 97 in his rookie season at all since he was always a 93 guy who then would go to 95 for a bit more on it. His velocity is up from when he was a rookie, but it feels like its the bad version since his command and whatnot is not there. In a way what I am getting at, I think if he takes a little off, goes for command over speed, I think he would be more effective in general. He will get another chance this season I am sure, but he needs to watch the overthrowing that he did.
