The lineup simply isn’t good enough

The lineup simply isn’t good enough

That would be quite the understatement, unfortunately. Santana is our only consistent hitter currently, although Jose is beginning to show signs of finally snapping out of his funk and Frankie will be fine when he shakes off the rust. Kipnis is basically on a retirement tour at this point. Martin should never be facing LHP, while the organization needs to stop forcing Naquin down our throats. CarGo looks washed up and Bauers is still figuring out big league pitching.

This team is in desperate need of serious upgrades in the lineup, although I'm starting to wonder how aggressive the front office will be in July if the team is several games behind the Twins in the standings.

Couple of stinkers....

Maybe getting embarrassed by the freaking white sox is enough to give these guys some life, somethings gotta give eventually.
I don’t think it is about having life. This offense isn’t big league caliber. The front office put all of their eggs in the rotation basket. With the injuries and inconsistencies in the rotation, this team is going to struggle.

Baseball was always my favorite sport growing up because it was fun playing it, and growing up in Cleveland it meant warm weather coming and school is almost over. Baseball is great, but these Indians are next level frustrating. 2007 and 2016 still haunts me, as im sure 1995 and 1997 haunts the older bunch. When your team wins, the sport is a damn fun one.
Crazy to see 1995 and 1997 as the older bunch. Still remember going to the first game at Jacobs Field vs the Mariners like it was just a few years ago, crazy to think it has actually been 25 years. Unreal.
Curious but how many people in this thread actually attended games growing up at the old stadium in the 80s?

Anyways this team gives off a “ we are talented enough to keep your interest” but not talented enough to win it all vibe. Too bad they are literally two to three bats away from being a really solid title contender. Seems like a blown opportunity by the front office.

Since you brought it up, my first tribe game was in September 1983. They played a DH against the Yanks that day. All I really remember is that it my older cousin turned 8 and his favorite payer was Mike Hargrove. Grover was super nice BTW. He signed a ball for my cousin.

Went to 1 maybe 2 games at Municipal Stadium early 90's.

This team cannot function with 2 Bauer(s) on the roster.

Jacobs/Progressive is a much better baseball venue that old Municipal Stadium. It was true when it opened in 94, and was one of the first of the "baseball only" stadiums that MLB made such a push for at that time. I think it still holds up as one of the better ones.

That said....does anyone remember the outfield grass from the old stadium? Maybe it's just nostalgia playing tricks with my brain, but I still remember that as the greenest grass I have ever seen.

Rodriguez looks promising.

Just can't get him any support so far.

Santana striking out with 2 runners on is pretty huge. This offense is putrid.

Is it too much to ask for a couple of average big league hitters? This is brutal to watch.

Indians need a jolt...just no energy around this team...very unfortunate

fire burkleo now? having all but one batter in a funk needs a different approach from top to bottom.

plus need to make some moves. most likely call ups, but this might be worse than we expected from our offense
