2019 Series #21 | Indians vs. Yankees | June 7th, 8th, and 9th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm always here whether good or bad, Mr Cavs should draft Anthony Bennett.

Yep, I was wrong about Anthony Bennett and I'm man enough to admit it. Never understood what that had to do with baseball.... is this year six or seven that you've been reminding me of this?

You've been wrong about things as well but I don't need to remind you of that just to improve my argument.

At the first sign that any young player is struggling, your first instinct is to just get rid of them and you never let it go.

I'd rather spend my time thinking about how a young and talented player can succeed than trying to constantly tear them down.

Oh well. I didn't even direct my comment towards you specifically so whatever....

Because he got up for a save situation and then they tacked on a late run.

Even if you sit him down at that point he’s probably unavailable today after getting hot.

I respectfully disagree that he would have been unavailable today if he hadn’t pitched yesterday just because he warmed up in last night’s game. Regardless, at least the lineup fought back to make it a game with contributions from unlikely heroes. With Bradley out of the lineup today in Columbus, I would imagine he is called up before Tuesday’s series against the Reds. The question is if Bauers is sent down or if Martin is DFA’d, although I think the former is more likely to happen.

I don't think Bradley is getting called up for Tuesday's game, and if he was, they wouldn't need to sit him out a Sunday afternoon game in Columbus to make it work.

I know we got the run anyways due to NY's defensive miscue in the 9th, but I really wish Tito would get with the times and realize the uselessness of the sacrifice bunt. We're the last team that needs to be giving away free outs.

If we were good at using them effectively then it wouldn't matter, but it doesn't seem like anyone on this team can bunt right at all to begin with so yes, we need to avoid the sac bunts because of that. Should Bauers be able to do that? Yes, are kids taught to do that anymore in the US game? No they are not at all!

There's no such thing as effectively using sacrifice bunts. They lower your run expectancy even when executed.

Wouldn't want to tell Omar Vizquel that since he lead the league in them multiple times and that was with power house hitters behind him in the lineup. It can be effective if done properly, but very few in today's game know how to do it correctly so it is no longer effective at all so in a way I will agree to disagree since I agree they shouldn't use them mostly because they are piss poor at using them.

Yeah, and Omar sacrifice bunting was also dumb. This isn't really an agree to disagree type thing. Sacrifice bunts are proven to negative outcome events. You're free to continue thinking otherwise, just know that it's illogical.

Unless they already decided to call him up and didn’t want to risk him getting injured today. We’ll see.

If they had already decided, then why wouldn't they just bring him up today? I think you're reading too much into a random day off.

2 series wins in a row and our bats are waking up. Hopefully Bauer can turn it around against the Reds. Really need to take these two games.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I have never been wrong when evaluating a player for any sport. If you are actually wrong from time to time, i am not sure you should post here anymore.

29 of the Indians next 40 games are vs. the Royals, Tigers, Jays and Orioles who have a collective .339 winning percentage

That being said, the Indians have already been swept by the Royals this season. Still gotta play the games and not take any opponent for granted, but I agree, this is a great opportunity to climb back into the race.

Thats been their problem, it feels like they play at the level of the competition and hopefully the fact we played well of late stays together and we put together a 25-15 type of 40 game stretch since that would put us close to the twins at the trade deadline and allow us to make the playoff. They almost have to finish June with a 20 win type of month if they hope to catch the Twins.
