2019 Series 22 Battle of Ohio Reds @ Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That approach by Jose was pretty damn good. He even had a rocket down the line but foul. Then he chased strike 3 because his eye is horrible.

Bauers is fucking dumpster trash. He needs to get demoted and figure things out. I'm sick of saying this shit.

Castillo is filthy and that was a hell of an at-bat by Ramirez. Can’t help it after fighting off 3 fast balls inside and then get that changeup down and away.

Unfortunately, Ramirez took Castillo so deep in the count that Castillo kind of found himself there. Bauers had no shot.

But he’s chased now...

Yeah I was loving that AB by Jose, he just might hit a rocket next one. An approach like that could go a long way, he tried really hard. The camera zoomed on him on the bench and he was by himself sulking kinda, he's pressing to be better. Baseball will tear you up mentally, I imagine that being Jose.

And yeah, Bauers had no chance, he's just so overmatched at this level. AAA could help him sharpen some tools and gain confidence. He's not figuring it out here anytime soon.

Can’t stay off the stuff up in the zone. Interleague game and the Reds clearly know it.

Can't get enough Leonys Martin.
Daniel Johnson has a .390 OBP and .965 OPS in 16 games at AAA and seems ready to see some big league action. Stick Mercado in CF, Johnson in LF/RF and call it a day.

Bauer pitched a doozy. Sucks that our offense just can't do anything.

Bauers is fucking putrid right now.

Jose's slugging percentage has dropped under .300 this game.

He needs to stop hitting 5th and start either leading off, because he's still drawing walks and stealing bases at a good rate, or hit like 8th, because he's not even close to a major league hitter right now.

Bauers can go for Bradley too. Not sure what Tito is waiting on there.

Indians players this season with a higher SLG% than Jose Ramirez, regardless of at-bats just because I want to point out how putrid he's been slugging the ball this year:
  • Francisco Lindor
  • Jordan Luplow
  • Carlos Santana
  • Roberto Perez
  • Oscar Mercado
  • Brad Miller
  • Tyler Naquin
  • Mike Freeman
  • Jake Bauers
  • Leonys Martin
  • Kevin Plawecki
  • Hanley Ramirez
  • Greg Allen
  • Jason Kipnis
I know some of those guys only had like 25-50 at-bats, but still. I'd seriously consider benching Jose for a week or dropping him in the order. We won't make any noise this year without him somehow rounding into form, at least a little bit, but he's fucking useless right now.

Brad Hand is an absolute monster. If we do look to trade him for whatever reason (I personally wouldn't, I don't see him as a flash in the pan type of reliever that is elite one year and could suck the next), we should demand at least an Andrew Miller-like return considering his age and contract status.
