2019 Series #23 | Indians @ Tigers | June 14th, 15th, and 16th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Got at least 2 of 3 again. Good job. Keep it going..

Shane Bieber has turned into a way better strikeout pitcher than I ever thought he would be, and he's not even halfway through year two.

He's got games this year with:
15 K
12 K
10 K
9 K
9 K
8 K

and it's June 15th. Very encouraging.

Starting to turn into a good ol’ fashioned ass whooping!

Of the next 35 games, 28 are against sub 500 teams

Probably not a huge deal since he just threw a complete game shutout, but Bauer seems like he might not be feeling great physically. Just something to keep on eye on.

Last week:

"Right now I’m just trying to feel good for my next start physically," said Bauer. "My body is pretty banged up. That’s really where my focus has been to get ready physically. I’ve executed really well my last three starts and I’ve lost three of them."

Postgame:

"First 4-5 innings were a struggle for my physically" and then "I'm giving what I have for my team right now"

Hamilton mentioned on the broadcast today that Tito and Carl Willis were able to convince him to stop throwing the weighted ball between starts. So maybe that will help?

Makes sense. I brought this up a while back--when everytime he threw his slider to the left side of the plate it was way outside, and the only way he could throw it for a strike was up and to the right. Something was wrong physically that was causing his mechanics to just not be where he wanted them.

I didn't see much at all of Saturday's game but great series to watch. Detroit definitely sucks but 25 runs, Bauers hits for the cycle, Martin steals home, Bieber pitches a gem after a real rough outing vs. the Yankees, Bauer gets his first ever complete game shutout, Mercado with multi-hits in every game, etc.

Build off it vs. Texas and move up in the Wild Card standings.

Love the positive signs. Jose also got a hit in each game, and two on Friday. 5 hits in a series is a nice step in the right direction for him.
