The GM who traded Luka because he thought he had the next Steph in Trae Young should be fired. Seems like Atlanta tried to build this thing too quickly then had a ton of injuries and Lloyd struggled to coach around that. Their FA signing (Rondo, Bogdan and Gallo) have all struggled and none have a FG% above 40% lol.

The GM should maybe be fired but then what do we say about Sacramento, who took Bagley? I mean, at the very least, Young and Reddish is a better consolation prize than Bagley.

But yea I thought Trae was being overrated. His shooting was not on Steph's level coming out of college and that's played out in the NBA so far. He needs to cut down on some of his really silly 3 attempts.

But I watched that game tonight and I did think he played more under control. So maybe he'll start to cut down on trying to be Steph 2.0 under McMillan.

I've been really impressed with the Spurs stealth rebuild.

Murray
Johnson
White
Vassel
Poetl
and even Samanic (he's looked nice the past two games he's been given serious minutes)
Is a pretty nice young core.
They've been playing pretty well despite injuries/covid issues.

Denver has been the team I've been watching the most outside of the Cavs.

Jokic is my favorite player in the NBA and he's having one of the truly great offensive seasons ever. He's the MVP imo and I wish there were a way to trade them Kevin Love so they could make their very best run at it (although I don't really know if Love helps them that much, if at all).

But it's hard for me to really evaluate Porter Jr.

I like him. I like the way he styles his game. But Jokic is making the entire game so ridiculously easy for everyone else on that team that you just don't know what Porter Jr. would look like on a bad team with bad offensive players.
Nuggets have been my most watched team since the season they missed out on the playoffs with 46 wins

Love what they have there, and I share your thoughts on MPJ. Personally, I think they'd be best served to deal him, but they're fun to watch regardless.

Every time I watch the Nuggets the only thought that pops in my head is "Why didn't we promote Mike Malone to head coach all those years ago?!?"

Bol Bol should demand a trade. Underutilized considerably...

Agree. There were plenty of reasons and some were odd and funny (Divac knew Luka's family and wasn't fond of his father according to Mavs reporter Tim MacMahon). Divac himself said he thought Luka and Fox would get in each other way development wise. I also saw a report that Peja who is a member of the FO, thought that Luka was just another guy lol.

Trae should try to play more like his idol Steve Nash (needs to cut down on TO's) and less like Steph. Pretty funny to see how unpopular he's become among fans and peers in such a short period with his bs foul baiting and glad to see it cost him an all-star slot. It's like he watched how Harden, IT, CP3 and Smart baited for calls and added their entire arsenal. It gets him gaudy numbers individually but does nothing for his team in the long run.

Pops best coaching job in years.

I've seen some horrible takes. Barkley can be prisoner to the moment and will say some weird things, but he doesnt take himself too seriously and does it for entertainment alot of times.

THIS though

From Wheelchair P.

This is terrible. And its made worse by his justification for why he just said some off the wall ish, the look on his face when it's clear he just said something wrong and the look on RJ's face when he realized how bad Paul's take is.

Paul Pierce's "takes" as a commentator would be relegated to EAYOR on RCF

A lot to digest here...
- Murray has been great lately. Many guys who played deep into the playoffs have had tough starts, particularly the ones who were dinged up.
- Trading Murray for Beal does what exactly? I adore Beal, but the Nuggets deficiencies are not on offense.
- They need another perimeter defender and a Plumlee replacement. Hartenstein hasn’t been bad, but he’s not the answer. It’d be nice if they could get a rim protecting PF, who can slide to C with Jokic out.

Remember when we had a debate a couple of years ago where I thought Otto Porter was better than Beal? :chuckle:

It's not even sane

The Nuggets lost their two best defenders in Grant and Craig after trading away their 3rd best defender in Beasley at the deadline, and Paul's answer is to trade for a worst offensive compliment to Jokic? The Nuggets insist on starting a over the hill Millsap next to a defensively challenged MPJ and Jokic instead of finding a valuable defender to compliment them... they can find what they need in the bargain bin after trade deadline market and instantly be a favorite in the west again.

Takes like this scream out "I havent watched them play and I'm just going to pull something out of my hat on this one because I have a microphone".

Anybody see Mitchels ejection last night after Embiids flop? When is the NBA going to start handing that man fines his flopping is atrocious

Otto Porter, Thad Young, Aminu rotting away in Orlando, PJ Tucker

You plug any of those available guys into Denver between Jokic and MPJ and tell them just play defense and dont disrupt our offense, and Denver is a contender again

I was watching two games at once but was locked in on that overtime. That was some terrible officiating.

Gobert and Embiid both were flopping against each other all night. Both of them should have received techs for flopping in regulation.

Donovan Mitchell lost his cool because Ben Simmons was in his head, which was funny to see. I think that contributed to him blowing up at the end more than just Embiid's flop,. but Embiid's flop was terrible.
