This MPJ jump looks real and it makes the Nuggets a legit contender even w/o Murray in the West.

Next year, buddy..look out.

Gordon as your 4 the guy in a closing lineup is great: very good individual defender, decent enough shooter, and the finishing ability will make that team frightening next year.

Plus what a great organization: finding guys like Campozzo. I hope they win a title: they "deserve" it.

So what is the deal with Chicago?

They appear to have some talent on that roster, but still suck.

What's the deal?

So I've watched them a little bit and they definitely lack what you'd call "tough" players. All of their best players aren't guys who wanna get down and dirty.

But more than that, they have bad point guard play. Coby White hasn't been that good so far, and even if he does figure it out he doesn't look like a point going forward. And LaVine just isn't a special playmaker. I wouldn't even call him a combo-guard. He's a 2. And they need someone else to help take the ball out of his hands more.

And Anthony Davis looks like an MVP caliber player again: he's such a freak on defense. The ideal big for the small ball revolution
Him and Bam are just so good on defense at either rim protecting or closing out.

They don't deserve to hit their stride just as the playoffs start.

I'm rooting like hell for Phoenix to get them in the first round and for the Lakers NOT to have their wrinkles ironed out before that series starts.

I believe Phoenix can beat them I'd they get them early.

I find it funny that Lebron is making his return now against the lowly Rockets then the upcoming and must win game against the Knicks.....lol

what Richfield said above, is how I feel about the Warriors right now.
They are going to be some extreme asshole shit come 2022 and I do not want to see them getting Minnesota's lottery pick. They need to be picking 15-20 if they keep their own pick in the first round at least.

I agree with this 100%

Man I cant believe how bad that trade turned out for Minnesota.

They have two games left. They lost to Sacramento three times. They've only won one game since March 31. It was against Boston, the same team most posters here seem to think should have somehow beaten the Cavs last night

If okc can beat them, why are so many acting like it should be so difficult for the Cavs to beat them? You guys are playing Sexton. Okc hasn't been playing any of their top guys since March.

There was WAY too much illogical drama on the board last night.

Hilarious how the Lakers without Davis and Lebron could BARELY beat the awful Rockets, even though the Rockets weren't playing their star KPJ, LOL.

They literally didn't have a PG. Both Schroeder and Caruso were out. They went with THT as the de facto PG. Crazy how lucky the Lakers got. If you redraft he might go top 5 from last year's draft

Kelly Olynyk is the Rockets star player

Seriously, look at their basketball reference page.

They've gotten blown out so much this year that they have a bunch of guys like Olynyk with goofy stat lines. He's legitimately put up an All-Star stat line.

So I've always hated the idea of incentivizing losing and it happens in every American sports league, but particularly the NBA, where the draft means so much more because of how impactful a single player is on the game.

Tanking is basically a poison on competitive sports. It needs to be removed entirely.

European soccer doesn't have this problem thanks to not having a draft and having relegation.

On the other hand, European soccer is also completely dominated by a select few teams literally every single season almost entirely due to not having a draft to help even the talent out. So I don't think that's a great model either. We need to keep the draft to prevent these hegemonies where 1 or 2 teams win the title every single year.

I get the notion that you don't want the very best teams lucking into the very best draft prospects on a regular basis, so making the entire league have even odds seems like a not great idea.

So my compromise: Only the non-playoff teams are in the lottery, but all of them have the exact same odds. One ball in the hopper per team, you draw for the entire lottery, not just the top 3 picks.

That was the original lottery system. People thought it was unfair so they weighted it in favor of the worst teams.

There will never be a fair system because, as you said, one player can make such a difference.

Jets fans were pissed they beat the Browns last year and lost out on Trevor Lawrence.

My two cents is that a return to some kind of regional draft makes sense. Incentivize teams to develop local talent from a young age. Incentivize players to play for their home team.
