Sexton might only be slightly behind in every category, but that adds up. Plus, offensive production is up now which means that compared to league average, Kyrie was much more impressive than Sexton, who is very close to average production offensively while still being much worse defensively.

Big get for the Lakers w Morris. I still have them as the favorites. He gives some much needed toughness.

Kyrie as a 2nd year player playing in this kind of league would be far better than Sexton.

Agreed. But Kyrie has nothing like Sexton's work ethic, tenacity, and pattern of continuous improvement.

And for all his stats, Kyrie has never been a guy who generates a lot of wins. If you gave me a choice of which guy to have under contract right now, I'd take Sexton.

The problem wasn't trading Kyrie per se, it was botching the trade so badly that we destroyed the entire roster and left Lebron with effectively no help at all in 2017-18. That destroyed any chance at all we might have had to keep Lebron. Hindsight is 20-20 but the fact is that Kyrie was an extremely valuable NBA commodity that year and we threw him away for basically nothing but an 8 pick in the 2018-19 draft (which was of course useless in 2017-18).
Not saying he is better just similarities in shooting their second year but let's not act like Kyrie equals wins back then or even now.

The advance stats have to be taken with a grain of salt. I could show advance stats that make Delly look like the star in comparison. Eye test? Pretty impressive handles and soft touch but as the shooting stats show above it didn't equal much if any difference in shooting percentage.

I remember Cavs trading for Shaun Livingston and Marresse Speights. Kyrie got hurt and we started winning. For the first time since LeBron. We looked like playoffs was possible. Kyrie comes back and wrecked it. Will say he was a great fit next to LeBron and probably will be great fit with Durant but will never be the man.

Speaking of Durant bearing an injury did it really matter what cast of players we had? This is coming from a serious Homer. Being honest up till the shot I campaigned a Chris Paul Kyrie trade. Glad we didn't but just saying we won a championship.

I know they do not have Paul George and that today is Reggie Jackson's first game, but I am really not sure the additions of Marcus Morris and Jackson make the Clippers better, and they may end up worse.

Morris is a really good player, but he needs the ball in his hands, and that means you are taking it away from Lou, Kawhi, and PG. Ditto for Reggie Jackson. I am not sure where he gets minutes in the playoffs, though, I guess it is good because it means the Lakers did not get Reggie.

I totally agree with this. Neither of those additions really raises their ceiling as a team (Morris doesn’t add much that Kawhi and George don’t already, while Jackson is worse then Beverly and Lou and even Shamet), but both certainly lower their floor. Both guys are totally capable of mucking up the Clippers’ offense and taking atrocious shots. With all the injuries and load management, the Clippers are also running out of time to build chemistry.

The other thing is if they keep up with their mediocre regular reason play they might well end up with a terrible playoff draw. If the playoffs started now they would likely have to face the Thunder then Denver without home court advantage and then Lakers (where they’d effectively play seven road games) and then the Bucks without home court advantage. That’s brutal. And it could get much worse. If Houston jumps them in the standings they could wind up facing Lakers in the second round. If the Jazz pass them they could wind up facing both Houston and the Lakers even before the conference finals.

Another big problem is, while I totally agree with how they use rest, the team has not been able to build an identity. That team looks totally different when Kawhi plays with no PG, PG plays with no Kawhi, and both play. Now you are adding two guys who, historically, have systems that work around them when they play.

I also am just not convinced that Lou Williams and Montrezl are going to be effective against teams like Houston, LAL, OKC, and Denver. I am very low on the Clippers.

With that said, I really want that franchise to do well. Mick Minas's book really made me feel for those fans.

Personally i’d rather them relocate to Seattle or somewhere else for the sake of the NBA. No city needs two basketball teams, not even NY or LA. The Lakers are by far the most meaningful team to that city. The Clippers will never matter in the same way there even if they win multiple championships. But they could matter a great deal to fans in cities and regions that currently have no profesional basketball team.

I was a Clippers fans growing up in LA before moving to Ohio. I have no sympathy for them: weird psychology that fandom is something that doesn't need to be earned.

Feel bad for the Pacers and Jeremy Lamb. Lamb has carved himself a nice career and Indiana as an organization gets screwed again by the injury bug

Just realized Milwaukee is on pace for 71 wins.

Outside of Philly figuring it out, no one is gonna challenge them in the East.

Miami has the player who can do it, but his team just doesnt have the surrounding talent (and theyve been coming back to earth recently).

Toronto can defend them, but theyre not gon a be able to get the buckets late.

Yeah they're 4-6 in the last 10, but overall, Miami took me by surprise this season. I certainly didn't think they'd be ahead of Philly in the standings at this point.

I hope the Bucks win it all. Screw the West and all that talk, all the time. Would love to see another small market team win, one with cold weather, no special clubs with bottle service, and all that crap.

You guys don’t have clubs with bottle service in the midwest?
