You guys don’t have clubs with bottle service in the midwest?

Chicago has plenty of clubs with bottle service. Pretending the Midwest is now flyover country is a bit strange

Lebron with the groin problems again...he's finally developed a chink in his armor of physical invulnerability, about a decade after most other players do.

The NBA ratings problem is going to get worse with YouTube TV dropping Sinclair owned Fox regional sports networks. 17 of the 30 teams are on these networks and YouTube has 2+ million subscribers.

If the NBA doesn't announce they are removing the streaming blackout rules in the offseason like the MLB did, I'm not sure they are taking cord cutting seriously.

Sinclair is going to go bankrupt at this rate. That leaves Hulu+Live as the only streaming option for Fox regionals I believe.

At&t tv now, which was DirecTV now, has it but only with the higher $80 package.

I really hope the NBA takes action or Sinclair is trying to sell directly to consumers. This could be the domino that kills cable and the streaming cable service. We might be just looking at buying TV directly from the networks parent companies. The a la carte tv might just be we have to subscribe to ESPN+, Hulu, Peacock, HBO max, etc.

Great, we got away from cable because it was too expensive. Now we've switched to streaming which is now 3x more expensive.

I don't know how live sports will fall into the a la carte streaming formula but without live sports you can make it as cheap or expensive as you really want. Waiting to binge shows and just rotating subscribing to one or two streaming providers at a time can be more than enough content for alot of people.

The thing is the NBA could end up being cheaper to watch because if you are willing to miss a couple national games, subscribing to Fox Sports Ohio directly or single team league pass could cut out the need for cable for alot of people.

The one sport that I'm not sure how it will work without cable is college football. It's spread out all over different networks and teams can be on different networks every week.

At this point, it's cheaper for me to go back to cable than it is to bother keeping Philo and YTV. Which really pisses me off in general.

Man I would not want to face OKC in the playoffs... ironically, they probably get whooped by Houston, but I think the Thunder are a bad matchup for every other Western Conference contender.

They rebound well, have lots of shooting and perimeter defense, have two creators, and a good coach. They can attack the Lakers’ guards, the Clippers’ bigs, and imo, will just be a better playoff team than Denver.

Chris Paul will get hurt in the 2nd game of the series. You forgot to factor that in.

I am curious why the blackout rules matter?

League Pass will blackout games from your local area. Because I live in NEO, I cannot buy League Pass and watch Cavs games on it. I am forced to purchase a service that has Fox Sports regionals. If they'd finally drop that bullshit, I could quit paying for tv altogether and just buy league pass every year.

Yeah, looks like he is really hurting. Might be out the rest of the season. :chuckle: Love these dumb load management games. I just wonder if the NBA will fine the Lakers like they did with the Timberwolves. The only difference is that the Lakers are better at hiding it. It's the same thing though.

Blackout rules basically punish fans for living in market for their favorite teams. Instead of buying a $18 a month single team league pass, you have to now either buy cable or Hulu live at $55 a month to watch the Cavs.

I was actually wrong with MLB removing blackout rules, the reports I read a couple months back misinterpreted the MLB rule change for streaming rights. They won't be getting rid of blackout rules instead they will allow individual teams to be able to negotiate that with tv networks in future contracts instead of it being owned by the league.
