Last night was the night while Lebron was sitting on his couch watching the Clippers game he realized he could be in big, big trouble. Clippers are clicking on all cylinders now. Kawhi is entering assassin mode. Unless one of George/ Kawhi get hurt by the time the Lakers play them i dont see how the Lakers beat them. Lebron.will have to go in god mode like he did in game 6 vs the Warriors. Clippers with those moves they made are so deep. It will be very interesting to see.

I really think the Cavs should REALLY pursue Kenny Atkinson. His a good younger coach and helped turn the dumpster fire know as the Nets around. They were in worst shape then we are now and he helped develop so many players including Cleveland's own "smoking Joe Harris". I feel bad for him as you know that woke idiot Kyrie and that back-stabber KD ran him out of town for some puppet coach.

I wouldn’t take Kyrie back even if it meant adding him for no draft or player cost in return (assuming we couldn’t then flip him). Pure cancer and needs an ATG to win in the modern NBA anyway.

  • Players felt that Atkinson needed "identify roles better [and] communicate the team's hierarchy better."
  • There was "growing belief that [KD/Kyrie] had no interest in playing for [Atkinson] when the team is whole again next season." Incredible
  • Not sure if this got to him but by December Atkinson saw the writing on the wall early right after acquiring Kyrie/KD.
  • KD chimed in during an honest team meeting that the team must improve habits and were not building proper culture traits to win title (big yikes for a HC)
  • Biggest issue (and funniest) is that DJ was promised a starting role (GM/Owner?) and Atkinson started Jarrett Allen in 58 out of a total 63 games. DJ wasn't happy about it and let it be known frequently. The clear disrespect shown by DJ demonstrates the leverage he wields.

It's going to be fun watching Kyrie and KD fail next season LMAO. Atkinson set the very culture KD insulted that allowed them to attract free agents. KD complimented the players on the team like LaVert before joining but fails to realize that Aktinson helped develop and expand their games. Took a joke of a franchise that mortgaged their entire future (Tatum, Brown) for a weird accumulation of washed up ex Celtics and DWill and made them relevant again.

According to yahoo sports, Kyrie Irving wants the nets to hire T Lue to be their coach next year. But when he left the Cavs all he did was shit on Lue and talk about how much better Stevens was. You can’t even make this shit up.

I don't think it is widely known how much Lue and Kyrie butted heads. I am not sure this report is accurate. Kyrie is a flake though, and I think everybody is aware that he didn't quite know what he had in Cleveland.

During a rare practice in the middle of last season, coach Tyronn Lue, who was standing next to assistant coach and Irving confidant Phil Handy, called out to his young point guard.

"Ky," Lue said, "I want you to play a little faster."
"Why?" Irving asked.
"Because if we play faster, we get shots off easier."
"I don't need to play faster to get my shot off," Irving replied. "I can do that anytime."
"I'm not talking about your shot. I'm talking about RJ and JR," Lue said, citing teammates Richard Jefferson and Smith.
"Well, that's No. 23's job," Irving replied, referring to James.
According to members of the Cavs organization who witnessed the exchange, Lue ended the conversation by walking away, shaking his head.

Other passive shots he took:
  • Heavy shade at Ty Lue after leaving Boston fawning over Brad Steven who he then predictably soured on as well. Provided this gem during Bill Simmons podcast: “It’s such a relief to have a basketball mind like that…doesn’t forget plays, knows when the shift in the game happens…it was a breath of fresh air talking to him.”

It would be pretty funny to see Ty Lue coach Kyrie, a man he once said one shouldn't waste time figuring out because you'll go mad or something to that effect. LeBron came back to Cleveland and made amends with Dan Gilbert so anything is possible.

Totally agree with this. Atkinson worked magic in Brooklyn. Now that the Nets are transitioning from an exciting, fun young team full of guys with good attitudes to a maxed-out roster of lazy entitled free agent fucks they have to let him go, but their loss can be our gain!

I wouldn't count Kyrie out so quickly. He was having a great offensive season before he went down this year, and he came back from his catastrophic 2015 injury with two 25 PPG playoff seasons. He just can't be the best player on a playoff team, he's not a winner that way and never was.

He played very well this season but it was only 20 games. Over nine seasons he's averaging LESS than 60 games a year. That's a big problem.

Anyway, this story has, in retrospect, really put a different spin on two of RCF's hobbyhorses:

- Bitching about the Kyrie trade. There was a ton of complaining about how it was Dan's fault because we didn't keep Griff; it was LeBron's fault for "sonning" him; it was a horrible return for Kyrie. Well, it's pretty obvious that getting rid of Kyrie is like dumping a chick whose 9/10 on the hot/crazy matrix. Everyone thinks you're nuts for dumping her; then she's someone else's problem and you're laughing at them. We have a nice asset (Sexton) and when we dumped the others from that trade we got some return from that. I think we did FAR better than Boston and Brooklyn may live to regret signing that guy.

- Bitching about Ty Lue. That guy deserved a legit purple heart. LeBron isn't easy to deal with at all, but Kyrie + JR as well? Then there was the Love "fit in or fit out" (ok that was under Blatt but it did show the tension with Kevin -- echoes of that lately). No wonder Lue broke down his last full year. I'm not saying he's the greatest coach who ever lived -- I'm saying we should respect the fact that he put up with that crap at long as he did.

I don't think any coach will satisfy Kyrie.
