Seems like the Kyrie stuff is going to derail the Nets before the season even starts. Pretty sad to think about how things spiraled out of control for him personally and professionally.

Kyrie is so talented he will always get a second (and third, and fourth...) chance. He's still a truly great offensive player and a joy to watch with the ball. The Nets have to some degree staked their future on him and he is close friends with Kevin Durant. Frankly, I don't think he has really even approached the line in terms of what he could get away with.

So about LaMelo's shot and how it's not broken. Who wants to keep defending that take?

His shot is busted but the dude is going to be fun to watch. He's like a big version of Jason White Chocolate Williams. Gets a ton of boards and then just start whipping the ball around.

I hope he watches some Shaun Livingston tape as that is a great example of how a big PG can make it work without being a dead eye 3 point shooter.

Ja Morant is so much fun too watch. He's not getting enough attention because he's in Memphis

Which would you rather have? Ja's future or Luka's? Not sure its clear cut, both are fun young players

I have been proceeding on the assumption that the achilles tear guys (Durant and Wall) would be severe downgrades on their former selves. But they looked OK last night, especially Wall. It would be unprecedented if two people in the same season came back well from an achilles tear. Really only one player in the whole history of the NBA has done it to my knowledge (Dominique Wilkins). What do others think?

Of all the guys who tore their achilles how many of the were as good as prime KD or prime John Wall? One of the reasons why I was always optimistic about each of their recoveries is that these were two extremely high level players at the time of their injuries. They each have a whole level still to reach in their game.

I also think that most of the doubt about them recovering from their injuries was just people hating and being haters lol.

I was more worried about Wall because he tore both his achilles not one, and he relied more on athleticism than Durant and was always less a jumpshooter.

Ja looks like hes going to wreck his body on some of things he tries so I'll take Luka who looks like he's got some baby fat to take more hits

Houston can't give in to Harden.

Someone needs to draw the line with players pushing their way out.

Otherwise, they might as well just scrap contracts longer than two years.

Spurs already didn’t give into Kawhi and shipped him off as far away from LA as possible. Pelicans didn’t give into AD either and he had to spend another half year in New Orleans before the Pelicans got one of the best returns any team has ever gotten for a superstar.

Yeah not enough though because it continues to happen.

No, at some point an owner needs to fall on his sword and lock a player out who refuses to play, or trade them to the worst possible team out of pure spite.
