Utah has a lot of talent. Gobert can't handle AD but if the Lakers fall for whatever reason they could be a sleeper

When do the Celtics start thinking about a new coach? They’ve been stuck in the same spot since LeBron was in Cleveland. Brad Stevens has had the Celtics treading water through an entire cavs rebuild.
TT and Teague have been terrible for them too.
I think they'd be foolish to look for a new coach.

If you're relying on Jeff Teague to play meaningful minutes in 2021, your problem isn't coaching.

That said, I still think the Celtics have as good a chance as anyone to come out of the east.

I thought this last year, too. It's too bad Bogdanovic wasn't available to them for the playoffs.

Boston has been to the Eastern Conference Finals 3 times in the last 4 playoffs.
Confident to say Stevens aint going nowhere.

(The year they didnt make it Kyrie was the starting PG lol)

I give Ainge more credit than most: picking Tatum (trading down) and Brown who weren't obvious choices. They are set for 5-10 years as having two dominant 2 way wings is basically an ideal setup for the modern NBA.

Irving was a great trade too because no one realized how much of a headcase he was but after that not sure what he's been doing with the center or PG spot. A big like Ibaka, Wood, or not pulling the trigger on Turner seems really stupid. Any of those 3 guys would have pushed them into the top tier of contenders.
OTOH moving for Walker instead of trading for a Jrue HOliday type also doesn't make sense. He got the foundation right but can't find the right frosting

Yea I don't get it. Two elite wings under 25 on one team.

They're fine and gonna be fine for a long, long time.

Was having a a conversation with a friend whether Thad Young was leading in charges drawn this season, can’t find any sites keeping track, any ideas?

Whether I’m hiring a salesman, a bean counter or a ditch digger I’m looking to their job performance and not outside activities. I’d rather hire a great salesman who was a greedy SOB and never did shit for his family or community rather than a model citizen who couldn’t sell clothes to naked eskimos.

Kyrie‘s outside activities are wonderful for him and he’s doing some good things for others but the Nets are paying him to play basketball. In the end he has to do that or it won’t work. He doesn’t have to play, he can retire or take a sabbatical, but either he’s committed to being an NBA player or he’s not. If not, then Steve Naismith is right and he should retire.

Glad he’s not our problem anymore. We replaced him with someone who actually wants to play basketball all the time.

I would almost reverse this though. Kyrie is like the greedy SOB salesman who produces because he's a great salesman. Most of Kyrie's off-court activities demonstrate that he is full of shit and detrimental to team chemistry, but damn is he a great offensive player. That's why people still want him and always will until his talent starts to drop off.

Some thoughts on the Nets...

- Durant looks phenomenal.
- Harden is still a statue on defense. and looked to be the third wheel on offense tonight. Lots of ball watching.
- they have no depth.

If any of the "big 3" go down, they're fucked. They may be in trouble regardless. The NBA playoffs are full of teams like the Cavaliers, only better. Deep and play really hard in the playoffs. the nets have their work cut out for them.

"Durant is phenomenal" is the most important part of this. In no way did I expect him to be this good returning from a devastating injury. He is a very complete player who is a plus defender while he is one of the greatest offensive players ever without necessarily needing to dominate the ball. He's the most important reason they can compete for a championship. But Kyrie and Harden have such similar strengths and weaknesses and you have to wonder if you need both of them on the same team. Obviously they are both such great shooters that it does add to the unstoppability of the offense to have both at once, but you have to think that getting Harden has made Kyrie somewhat dispensable.

Harden is so good running the PnR that you have to consider trading Irving for some depth is Durant won't throw a fit.

Those two alone will be able to score enough to be a title teM
KD is why they brought his buddy Harden to the Nets! Durant will not be the least bit upset if they trade Cryie

we fired our coach after a finals run and a 33-11 start following season

Kyle Lowry leading the league with .69 drawn per game. Thad is 5th with .5.

Yes, Steph deserves credit for passing Reggie on 3s, but it's pretty scary how little media coverage the Jazz blowout win part of that game got.

Kind of like how the Nets lost the Cavs games more than the Cavs won them.
