My goodness anthony edwards. He's looked like pretty good the last few games and then overall sucked tonight but this is just Vince Carter like stuff.

Draymond Green just cost his team a win in the most direct manner I think I've ever seen?

Gets thrown out with a few seconds left, giving up the game tying technical FTs.

Wonder if KAT is now actually available.

This is written by Troy Brown Jr from the Wizards. Much of what he says
could easily be true of the Cavs as well:

This is such a strange season, though. The schedule is condensed, so we have more back-to-backs and there are times when we’re playing five games in seven nights. Sometimes, we’re playing the same team back-to-back in the same city, like in baseball. It’s like you’re playing a mini series against that team. It’s pretty crazy, and this is new to all of us.

Also, there are way fewer practices this season. That’s a big difference. We’re playing so much that it’s impossible to fit in practices. And not only does the schedule limit practice time, sometimes our practices will get canceled because the COVID-19 test results are running late or they have to shut down the facility or something. We don’t do walkthroughs anymore either. In a normal year, if we played the Nets in Brooklyn, we’d do a walkthrough on the morning of the game. But we aren’t doing those on game-days this season. You get used to a certain routine in the NBA, but it’s all thrown off this year.

I do think the lack of practice time and the condensed schedule have impacted the on-court product. This season, it feels like a lot of teams are going on big winning streaks or long losing streaks. Some teams have continuity and great chemistry, so they aren’t affected as much and they’re rattling off long winning streaks. (Teams like the Jazz, Sixers, Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets and Grizzlies fall into this category). Other teams have a lot of young players and new guys that are trying to get acclimated and develop chemistry, so this season has been hard. For these teams (including my Wizards), we badly need that practice time to get everyone on the same page and fix issues and teach the young guys. Instead, we’re trying to correct mistakes and work out the kinks on the fly during games, which is difficult.

And not only are we missing the opportunity to build chemistry in practices, we can’t hang out together and bond with each other off the court like we would in a typical season due to the NBA’s COVID protocols. If this was a typical year, we’d all be going out to eat as a team and hanging out at each other’s houses and so on. This season, we can’t do those things. (To be clear, I think limiting those off-court interactions is the right call by the NBA in order to keep everyone safe, but there’s no question it affects our ability to build chemistry too).

Zach LaVine is having a good year. His offensive game is improved. He is scoring efficiently, averaging 28.8 PPG, shooting 44% from 3PT. 52% overall, other advanced metrics are good, top 20 in several. Add in 5 RPG 5 AST. Defense is still not great but he is at least SG size. Still only 25 years old. Chicago may not want to pay him what he will command.

Anyone have in interest in him? All things being equal, would he be a better long-term fit next to Garland as a starting SG than Sexton?

Are Chicago not happy with him? Is he getable?

He is rumored to be available. That the powers at be are not happy with their rebuild.

Is he getable? I think it depends.

Edit: @Adam, the impression I, and others, get from Bulls fans is that you cannot build a team around him and therefore he is not worth the max he'll ask for after next season. Though his play this season has opened some eyes.

The roster has mediocre talent they think around LaVine, that Markkanen is not what they had hoped, so they should trade for picks and start over.

Personally I would say you cannot build around LaVine as the franchise, but he is a great piece to an ensemble. Put him in with Garland, Allen, Nance, and you're getting the makings of a good roster. Still need a SF, a very good defensive SF, to tie that group together because LaVine will never be a great defensive player, though I think with work he could be average.

Boston's problem is Tatum plateaued and they've got shit for bigs.

Let's not rewrite history. There were a lot of people saying that BOS would be better with Kemba and that Kemba would be better than Kyrie.

Kyrie has a lot of haters and let me tell you, they were not shy when he left BOS.

Last year Kemba Walker was perfectly fine. And I'll be happy to argue that the Celtics are still in a better position without Kyrie than they are with him. For fuck's sake, he's gonna end up kicked out of his own big 3 before too long.

Kemba is having a bad shooting year, but he isn't the #1 problem with the Celtics. Once again, it's their lack of an NBA level big outside of Tristan Thompson. I don't think Tatum is completely right after catching Covid earlier in the year either.

They literally were better last year. Significantly so.

This year has been a train wreck though. Hayward was a huge loss, and they've had a ton of injury/COVID issues.
