2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

I hope they manage to draft a guy who is both good and fits.

But I still feel kinda hopeless due to Love's contract. Makes it so hard to add the necessary pieces in free agency that'd really help us out.

That contract is just one of the biggest anchors a rebuild has ever had tied to its neck.

JBB-

“We took a step in the right direction,” Bickerstaff said when asked to assess the team’s progress. “If you look at where we were last year defensively, I think this year, we’ve definitely taken steps in the positive direction. Offensively the same thing. The way we share the ball, how we play together, our assist numbers and those things. When I watch us play, stylistically we’re doing the right things.

“As coaches, we’re here to teach. So you want to see if your students are learning and if they’re advancing. When you look at those guys (Garland, Sexton and Okoro) from day one ‘til now, they’re better basketball players than they were when we started this season. I would throw Jarrett in that mix as well. He’s a better player now than when we got him. I definitely think they have made huge strides.”

And to top it off he absolutely destroyed any trade value he may have had

Is it me, or does Allen look less so? Players really know how to shove him around at times.

8 more games... for those of you who love a good tank: THIS IS YOUR TEAM AND THESE ARE YOUR MOMENTS!!!!

0-8? 1-7? Does JB keep his job if they finish the season 0-14 or 1-13? Does Altman keep his job if they finish like that? Very good chance we end up with the 2nd or 3rd worst record at the end of all this.

i'd like to see them both come back - not because i love either of them, but at some point you gotta give continuity a chance.

The cavs need to either get lucky in the lotto or make their own luck. This is really the last year they have no expectations. Next year they need to be A LOT better. I'd look for them to be very aggressive, maybe even trading future picks and looking to buyout/waive/stretch love if the right opportunity presents itself. All options should be on the table. I've already said that I'd go all-in on Cunningham. Getting a top 4 pick, will make that a lot easier to do.

Big win for Orlando.

Cavs, OKC and ORL all at 21 wins.

MIN with 20, DET with 19. HOU at 16.

Cavs are shutting everyone down. They may not win another game. I expect MIN and ORL to pass them in the win column. Hopefully OKC wins another game in spite of themselves. Or DET goes on a mini-win streak.

Didn't we have playoff expectations this year? Whose getting held accountable for coming up short? We really couldn't put together a season better than the Hornets.

Young team, loss of a talented player (KPJ), lack of scoring depth behind Sexton and, in the second half of the season, Garland.

Making the playoffs would have been difficult in the best of times.

But the injuries to... everyone, really made making the playoffs impossible.

Nance, Love and Windler missed more than half the season and Porter Jr. never suited up for us.

I'd say it's highly unlikely, but they do play Sacramento three times. If they win again, it would be against them.

Who wins the tie-breaker between OKC and CLE?

This new Lotto sucks.

Yes, teams like OKC are making a mockery of the tank, but how else is a small market team supposed to get better?

(Answer: They have a superior front office with excellent talent evaluation and coaching personnel like Indiana or Utah. Something the Cavs do not have at present).
